Halfords Autocentre Ceased my Engine

Hi, I have a Nissan Qashqai.
Halfords Autocentre changed spark plug and Ignition coil as the vehicle engine had a overheating problem and struggling while driving at low speed
Took the vehicle to Halfords again after 2 weeks as the issue was not resolved and they changed thermostat.
A week later Car broke down and took it to Halfords they doubted that the Engine has Seized.
Took the car to Nissan and after investigation Nissan Gave me a Report saying Engine is ceased due to incorrect spark plug fitted.
Raised a compliant with Halfords, quoting the invoice from Halfords for changing the spark plug and the report from Nissan, their Senior Technician again checked the vehicle and now Halfords is saying the engine Seize is not due to the spark plug and the spark plug fitted by them was the correct one.
Spoke to Nissan again and they are sticking to their report and saying the Spark Plug fitted was incorrect one.
Where do I stand now and what to do next?
Thanks,

You stand on your feet until you get this sorted (and for the future you probably stand well away from Halfords)
Which model/year of Qashqai and which spark plugs did they fit ?0 -
How can a spark plug cease an engine? More likely the stat was faulty or water pump seized and that caused the engine to over heat.
What was the model of spark plug they fitted? What were the symptoms of the breakdowns? I would get a second opinion on the car.0 -
As it sits, this makes no sense.
By "Engine is ceased", do you mean that the engine is seized? Or do you simply mean that it broke down?
Nobody - even a bicycle retailer - would change plugs and coil because of overheating. Wrong plugs would not cause engine seizure.0 -
I think the OP has got his wires (or HT leads) crossed somewhere as non of it makes sense. And half term has finished...0

Yes Engine is Seized.
Nissan report says the below.
Found Cause of Engine failure was due to incorrect spark plugs been fitted to vehicle causing abstraction of piston travel and reason to cause damage to piston, valvles and other engine parts.0 -

OK, so taking a guess at what it really says...
Incorrect plugs, causing obstruction of piston travel? In other words, the plugs are too long, and so the piston hit them?
That would have happened the instant the engine was turned over on the starter motor the very first time, to move it off the ramp. For plugs badly enough damaged by that that bits broke off and moved around the engine, I doubt it would be running. Even then, I doubt it would seize. Valves may bend, and a piston may even be holed, but not seized. Anybody with the most basic mechanical sympathy would have been wondering what the horrible noises were.
Both NGK and Halfords recommend the same plug for a 2013 2.0 Qashqai - PLZKAR6A-11 - are those the plugs that were fitted? What does your Halfords invoice say?0 -
The engine would fail straight away, I doubt they would get it off the ramp with damaged plugs. You would have miss fires (if any firing) and the dashboard would light up like a christmas tree.0
