Hi poohzee,
This older thread should help:
New saucepans wanted
I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the suggestions together.

And, as if by magic, I had an email in my inbox this morning from Pots and Pans advertising their Autumn promotions! They have pans to suit all budgets so you might find something suitable there“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Now you see, I got a set of bog standard Tefal ones (3 pans for about £40) when I bought my house 8 years ago and they're only just starting to show signhs of wear...
The BEST pan I've ever had is the Tefal saute pan kinda like this:

It's the most versatile pan ever and I use it for practically everything, worth buying as an addition to a standard pan set in my opinion.0 -
I'm pretty hard on pans - tend to boil them dry, set fire to the handles etc. I find the heavy stainless steel ones, like Gingham Ribbon's ones stand up to the job very well. Mine are very similar, but from Allders (who I think ceased trading). I also have a couple of the Prestige stainless ones which are still going strong after 25 years!
The sets of tiered sizes are good value, but I found that we use quite a few of the smallish ones for sauces, smaller amounts of veg etc, so consider getting a 3 or 4 pan set and buying extra singles of the size you use most rather than a graduated set of 7.0 -
Have you also looked in TKMax? They very often have good quality pans. I had a set of Royal Doulton SS ones for £50, 4 saucepans and a frying pan-good quality, they also had judge sets for the same price. I went in last week and they had the marco pierre white range as well as lots of le crueset pans and dishes too-good value if you can be bothered to search them out.0

Never buy crap pans, we got a set of Swan pans, £30
Next thing you know the handles are working loose and you daren't pick anything up lol
We use prestige pans, we paid £65 for 1 milk pan and 1 frying pan/skiller and 2 saucepans and that was from ASDA. These are stainless steel copper bottom pans. We also have another frying pan, non stick which was about £10 and a wok from Home bargains which was £5.
But we have never had any problems and that does us for everything we make0 -
Now that I am used to my tri ply Le Creuset stainless steel pans, ( encapsulated on base and right up the sides too ) I like them, If the interior gets stained, you just wipe them out with lemon juice, then rinse with water and the stain disappears. I bought them in the sale in Fenwicks in Newcastle. £120 for 3
I am now going to look at a frying pan in Lidls on 27th September. Stainless steel with a non stick titanium interior, £9.99, looks good in the leaflet.0 -

I've got a couple of the cooks essentials pans - they seem to be wearing well and the non stick doesn't seem to be shifting at all (one of my bugbears!) was thinking about getting this set myself but can't really justify buying a whole new set of pans I don't really need! they are really good value for money though - quite heavy weight but not TOO heavy and as I said, the non stick coating is a good one that's till intact after months of use!Happiness is not getting what you want - it's wanting what you have
(I can't remember the originator!)0 -
