The weight does get you down after a bit,I got rid and bought the A. W, Thompson pan range what a load of rubbish ,the handles have come loose and they look scruffy,Tesco Finest have nice pans and I buy the odd one when on offer,0

I bought 2 Cooks Essential frying pans from QVC. They are pretty good as you can bung 'em in the oven and bake cakes in them etc. What I also do is put some of that teflon non stick baking parchment (2.99 from Sainsbury's) in the bottom of the pan when I'm frying baking etc. because no matter how thick the non stick base of a pan is, it eventually sticks a bit!0

We got copper-based pans way back in the late 80s and they're very effective as the copper conducts heat so well. The only thing is to beware with things like bolognese which burn easily and therefore need a lot of stirring.
Ours were from Boots Cookshop and the handles eventually worked loose so would recommend the idea but not the brand.Miggy

I am looking for a new frying pan & saucepan set. I don't want the stainless steel pans as I find everything sticks to the bottom unless I deep fry it. I want some Teflon or other non stick coated pans.
There are 2 main options I have seen so far:
Tefal
Bialetti (8 saucepans & 2 frying pans from Costco for £75)
Does anyone have any recommendations for a full non stick pan set under £80?0 -
I am sure I saw half price le crueset pans on Amazon to-daySaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Yep, I saw those too. But at £50 per pan, even at half price is still a bit out of my price range!0

The John Lewis Classic range is excellent and not overpriced. I have a large saucepan and the large frying pan with lid. They can go in the oven no problem and I regularly make pasta sauce in the frying pan, add the pasta and stick it in the oven or under the grill with some cheese on. The bases are thick enough to leave things to get on with it rather than having to stand over it stirring to stop it sticking to the bottom. They're not too heavy which is a bonus.
I think they do a non stick version but mine isn't and it cleans really easily.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Oh, and I'd never buy a cheap pan again. That's why we only have 2. We've been buying them with the intention of slowly replacing the ones we have but all at once would be too much expense.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

We have a set of judge stainless steel pans with good bases which havebeen greatand still look like new after 5 years. We bought them in a January sale. It might be worth seeing what's on offer after Christmas . I love the look of Le Creuset but we have a Le Creuset frying pan and it's very heavy and the non stick lining got very scruffy0
