I've managed to get it all done, except the MAD half hour thingy, before we head out for the day. What a difference it'll make to coming home!

putting clothes in the wash, drying them and putting them away, buying food, remembering that most people actually like to eat every day, cleaning up after oneself and not leaving the kitchen an unsanitary mess for five days, etc?

As they say on the "Unfilth Your Habitat" site (the real name is far swearier) laundry has several stages which include wash, dry and put away. (I'm ignoring the getting it in the basket, separating by colour and turning tour t-shirts inside out stages. ;))
I clear and wash as I go when doing food prep because I don't have a lot of counter space; as I do batch cooking, it's a case of there's always more washing up after food has cooled... Stern Words needed, methinks.

Well, need to crack on over the next couple of days as I'd prefer to return to a tidy flat... kitchen first in case the boiler engineer is arriving sooner, rather than later.

I forgot to say, Raphael, we were at the same Macbeth performance as you. I wish I'd known. We could have slurped something together during the interval.

which would be great.. IF I had any friends!! lol

Well if those of us who contribute to this thread don't qualify as friends I won't be sending many Christmas cards this year.

Sorry I haven't been contributing for a few days. I've been a bit busy flying. Yesterday I finally washed the front door, dewebbed all around it, washed the paintwork that was reachable from a stepladder, scrubbed the rest of the green gunge off them after someone else had pressure-washed them on Sunday, during which time I was raking the leaves up, tidied up all the pots on the steps for the winter, planted 50 bulbs in three of them, swapped out the saucers under them for pot feet and scrubbed the saucers prior to them being put away over the winter.

I was so shattered afterwards that I forgot to press the Start button the breadmaker while I was making ping cuisine for dinner. We are therefore breadless today, so OH has had to eat croissants for breakfast and lunch. He seemed okay with that and I now have some space in the freezer. Yesssss.

I'm also still shattered today, but I've made 12 lawn handkerchiefs and tidied away all the sewing gubbins from the dining room at long last, so that room's finally clear and I won't be buying so many boxes of tissues this winter. *kerching*

Tomorrow I really must do the minutes, vacuum the ground floor and clean the shower room. And maybe do a couple of more loads of laundry while the weather's still dry.
    Better is good enough.

Honey.. You lot have been the only people I have sent cards to in about 10 years.. and I can't afford to even do that the last couple of years.. the will is there, but not the cash.. OH has just gone from weekly to monthly pay too so this month is extremely tight! Not what you need right before christmas, hopefully we will get things straight by easter!

You are friends, but I can't just pop round, we can't go out for coffee when I need an hour escape from the house.. it's that type of friend I don't have.. you'd probably all hate me as much as everyone else if you met me :p

    Hi ladies

I am here...but it's half-term, DH has the week off and, as usual, I've come down with razor/Lego throat, which means no voice and utter exhaustion.

We do however HAVE FLOOD GATES FITTED AND OPERATIONAL!!! :j:j

    Just a teensy bit excited!!!!

Morning all, and here's to a good month ahead (though I'm another one who has checked their bank balance and gone   )

The garden looks much better after my two MAD half-hours so far this week, and the green bin is full for its final collection :D

    Today I must
    - finish some church paperwork for last month
    - clear my desk, file papers and sort books
    - check that I've got birthday cards for Nov/December
    - help DH sort out what he is wearing tomorrow for the family funeral tomorrow: he looks OK in his grey suit, but he will insist on wearing a horrible old short black anorak over the top which does nothing for his figure or sartorial elegance (may need a trip to town to buy a new one) and he always forgets to clean his shoes unless I remind him at least 3 times - the relationship between him and clothes reminds me of Jojo's OH attitude to washing up :(
    - show NNDNs who are going to walk Rosie for us where to find her lead / back door key / treats / food
    - FUPA clean washing (leftover from yesterday)
    - strip our bed, wash bedding and re-make
    - get my nails done: this is my "Buy 9 sessions, get 10th @ half price" month :money:
    - check freezer contents
    - do small food shop of fresh F&V and yogurt (and birthday cards, if needed)
    - fit in 2 walks with Rosie: I can actually see her when she runs free in the woods now, grey against the orange leaves :D
    - try to do another MAD half hour in the garden while the weather's so good

Hope everyone has a good start to the month - unlike one of my friends, whose car was stolen outside college yesterday evening :( If you've got a desirable car, buy an old-fashioned steering wheel lock!

Hi Pauper1 and a very happy birthday xxxx

Pigpen (((lots and lots of Hugs))), you have loads of friends here, look at the love in the messages x but i know how you feel my trusted friend circle is now more of a triangle lol

Had my pip assessment yesterday which more or less wiped the day out as it was a long way away, now got the dreaded 4 week wait for a decision, that sent me into panic mode and i literally clocked watched until gone 4, overslept this morning, DS dispatched to school thanks to DD, rubbish collected and put out for bin men now enjoying a cup of hot water mint and lemon before i get stuck into bathroom and kitchen, thankfully i gave kitchen a really good clean on Sunday so it shouldn't take more than 30 mins max (mind you in lots of pain today so could take a hell of a lot longer)

happy wednesday and pinch punch ...
