Hi all turtles :j
Checking in: 5/30
NSDs: 3/15 now..
Organise: Well the cleaning marathon paid off - there was not too much extra mess after yesterdays rain and after I washed the hall floors, I think it looked OK. Made cakes to go with the lunch, which is always appreciated by the relatives...they call on us as we're half way on their route to their holiday place, either on the way up or down. I always give them a decent bit of food because they were so good to us when DD was first born, in fact DD has always considered them her grandparents, although they are actually my aunt & uncle..luckily DD was on night shift so was able to have a chat with them before she had to get going.
Value for money - made food from what stocks we had in.
Exercise - Not as such....unless you count the cleaning marathon. Well my arms ached anyway..
Mental health - All well today & nice to see family. Uncle has been ill & this is the first time he's visited since his op, so a he's bit better.
Be Christmas ready - Finished one gift & found another..
Eat well - Not specially today as mainly what I call 'buffet food' Back on it again tomorrow..
Report - Gratitudes are sitting on the sofa after everyone had left, DH in other room watching sport & I was able to read some of my book & finish off a few presents...also we had the heating on for the visitors, so it was very warm :rotfl:New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Hi all
Today will be NSD 2/16 hoping to get to 6 by the end of the week..hub is away next week which will help.
Organises- have a list of things to achieve today and over the week. Need to phone sky, sort car insurance and phone bank...
Eat well & Excersize- both are on my list for today.
Value for money & xmas shouldn't matter today as Im not spending.
Mental health- trying to be more laid back and allow more time for myself. Some jobs can wait until the weekend...also time to get LO back in his routine as weve had so much on!
Greatful for- being slightly ahead of budget even though weve got a busy month, this challenge has highlighted for me the odd pounds I spend here & there and how they stack up. For the free large stamp work gave me- it all adds upand for my little potted xmas tree my MIL gave me. Will be off to the pound shop come Dec to get our frees lights.
Hope everyone gets off to a flying start to the week xx0 -
NSDs - As expected the weekend was spendy, and today will see me buying mould remover as Dad is unexpectedly free this afternoon to sort the toilet. I will go back and double check whether I have 1 or none so far!
Organise - Groceries £31.87/£200. Petrol £0/£150.
Value for money - bought a new washing machine. I knew what brands I was interested in, so did some research on a few websites as to what was in our budget. Then compared our top two, and as there was not much between them, went for the one with 5 year warranty. Used TCB and a voucher code.
Exercise - wandered around town a bit, but nothing strenuous. Don't know if that counts?!
Week 1 2/4
Mental health - We did all the housework on Saturday so that helped, but then DS was quite poorly and we didn't get our "day out". Feeling a bit more optimistic about this week. I always start a new week on a high though! I think I've got a couple of childcare sessions booked in which should keep me going.
Be Christmas ready - managed to pick up presents from B0ots that had been sat there for ages without them sending me an email to say they're in! I need to get our box down and check cards/wrap/decor.
Eat well - really not.. there's too much going on for this to be a priority right now I think.
Report - for the third time this month, I'm grateful for the NHS; this time for the ambulance service and free prescriptions for kiddos. I'm grateful that Dad has some free time to come and help me and I'm grateful for being able to afford a new WM without using credit (felt really strange ordering it outright like that!)Make £2025 in 2025 #18 - £569.66/£2025

Hello all, I am back from celebrating my MIL's birthday.
NSDs - None so far, had a lot of social occasions to go to, but the month is still young.
Organise - My online food shop is coming this afternoon, will do a food inventory and some batch cooking.
Value for money - Got 20% off a takeaway pizza order at my friends, does that count?
Exercise - Went to the thermal spa in Bath and was fairly active, need to do more though. As I now have plenty of free time I am planning to do some form of exercise daily.
Mental health - Things have been good. I have counselling on Monday's so can catch up with my counsellor tonight. I feel optimistic about the future.
Be Christmas ready - My first half of Xmas presents ordered have arrived. The food shop coming this afternoon contains more, am getting there but it is hard to plan when I have no income at this moment in time.
Eat well - Not been doing a lot of this recently...I have been making small changes for the better though so will just keep them building. The batch cooking should help with a food plan for the week.
Report - Can catch up now, but am away again this weekend.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
Debt Free Stage 2 - Completed 50/181 Payments0 -
Yesterday was not a NSD as I took the smallest 2 kids to a fireworks party (£2 kids £4 adults) and DH came too!! He never comes! He loved it. It was fab and half the cost of the one last year.
YS bargains aplenty, fridge and freezer full of good things. Should be able to rack up a good few NSDs this week.
NSDs -still on 1
Organise - using next year's diary already, more dates for kids trips and residentials coming in already - but at least I am planning for 5 months ahead.
Value for money - cheap fireworks display, YS bargains
Excercise - nope,
Mental Health - full of ooohs and aaaahs and the magic of fireworks.
Be Xmas ready - saving vouchers getting ready to swoop
Eat well - plenty of posh YS bread, so will be soups and stews this week -filling and healthy.
Report in daily - missed yesterday
Gratitudes - rang DS2 after the fireworks to tell him we would be home in 5 and to put the kettle on. He delegated to DS1, who not only had made us both a cup of tea but had made warm milk for his two little brothers and had washed up a few bits and dried up after supper. DS1 is turning into a nice young man.
Today is not a NSD, as I had to buy cereal and laundry powder, but that should be all I need for pretty much the week.
Have a great day all,4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Day 6 #18 Checking in...
NSD - Still 3/12. Anyone else stick to the rules for 3ish days then have a blow out?! Checked my bank account this morning over estimated a DD by £1.86 but under estimated another b7 £6. Then proceeded to book an exercise class for £6 and buy tat online for £2.99!! Realised I need a haircut desperately not sure where to find funds for this. Struggling to keep to £20 cash for the week.
Organise - As above by checking my bank I know where I am up to and made me realise that following bargain hunter sites on f@cebook to save money might actually cost me money as buy unnecessary 'bargains'. Wrote a list for the week of things going on so not as much as I thought (unless I've forgotten something). Remembered to take DS pe kit back into school and asked his teacher for a list of pupils ready for writing Christmas cards and party invites.
Grocery Budget - £70.47/£283 increased by £3 see below...
Value for Money - Thank you for everyone mentioning the t£sco fuel voucher. Forgot I had one so used it last night. Saved £3.00 I have allocated this saving to my grocery budget as I am hoping to squeeze the snack money out of here for school! Therefore my grocery budget has increased to £283.
Exercise - Going to park further away from school when I pick up. Then walk up to my see my parents its a lovely sunny day here. Booked clubbercise for Friday.
Mental Health - 5 full sleeps in a row. Feel great for it.
Xmas/DS birthday - Raised a claim on am@zon for item I haven't received for a xmas present. Asked school for a list for birthday invites.
Eat Well - Healthlyish day planned. Also drinking more water.
Be Grateful - Nice weather, t£sco voucher, this site for making me accountable and realising where the £1ssss are going. *bucks having a 2 for 1 between 2pm & 5pm apparently on their festive drinks. My DS skipping into school this morning without a backward glance excited to see his friends after half term.
Declutter - Kids step advertised on my FB and my auntie asked for it. Even dropped it off this morning. Will finish off shredding old paperwork later.
O/D - £8.86 saved towards / £1500.
£20 per week budget - minus £6.45 and still need to buy a birthday present!!!!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £150/£2600 -
