mmm. just found this in T&Cs (no particular Issue stated)

"12) You may not open more than one Account in your sole nameand one Account jointly in your name and that of someone else"

Do they mean that for 1 issue, or overall. In any case I now have 4 and will open more if I can. Will leave it til tomorrow

I have 2 Post Office saving accounts issue 28/29 and in the letters sent out to me they both have the same Direct Debit number, so i guess i could not replace 2 tesco dd on one of my accounts with the same DD number's?

If you are referring to the "Service User Number" then this is the Originator Id for the Post Office and not the DD mandate reference number. My wife and I have 9 Online Saver a/cs between us and the Service User Number on each shows 861657... likely yours does as well.

The nominated a/cs for all our Online Savers are different so have replaced 9 x Tesco DDs.

2 of these are sufficient for the requirements for most current a/c incentives with the following exceptions (for the current a/cs we hold anyway):
COOP only needs 1 x weekly DD.
TSB needs their 2 to be made to different companies.

If got three Issue 26 PO Internet Savers, obtained when Tesco first announced they were withdrawing the Direct Debit facility. They've been working fine.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Didn't realise that coop could be met with 1 dd on a weekly basis.

I!!!8217;ve just set up two DD to replace the two Tesco ones for Barclays Blue Rewards. They are both listed on my Barclays page as Post Office Savings but then each one has a different mandate description being !!!8216;Int Saver xxxxxxxx!!!8217; with the xxxxxxx being the account number. I believe this should be fine to meet the Blue Rewards DD requirements.

I applied for my 2nd account last night.

BM website is not the most user friendly. You can't (apparently) simply apply for a new account when logged in, but if you start the application from the home page, and tick that you are an existing account holder, it asks you to log in from that application page. Hope you're keeping:o

My account was opened immediately and I was able to set up the DD from my desired linked account straight away, rather than set up from cheque book account & then change later.

Did applying for your 2nd account in this way and choosing your linked account directly still result in 2 DDs - for one-off, and for recurring, payments?

My wife & I have 2 x BM Internet Savers each.

First pair initially linked to our Flexaccount (only a/c with chequebook) then changed to Yorkshire bank and now switched to HSBC.

Second pair also linked to Flexaccount (as I didn't realise at the time that no cheque would be required) then changed to FlexDirect.

Throughout, all 4 have set up 2 x DDs each (one for one-off deposits, one for regular).
  • COOP only needs 1 x weekly DD.

I don't think it strictly need be 1 x weekly - 1 taken 4 times in a month would suffice.
