Barclays....Your assumption is correct.
So one weekly direct debit would qualify for the £7 Barclays Blue Rewards in the same way that is satisfies the reward criteria for Coop? Thought I’d read on a thread a while ago that a weekly DD would not satisfy Barclays and it would need to be two different direct debit mandates (though could be from same company, e.g. two Tesco savings accounts).0 -
I haven't moved my final DD over yet so will try this Post Office weekly DD for my Barclays reward in March (hence cancelling my Tesco DD now) to see if this works and if not then set up the 2nd DD in April. Worst case I lose £3.50 for only 1 DD but still have received £3.50 to cover £3 charge.
I also was under the assumption that you needed 2 DD mandates set up as under the old T&C's it stated this but when reading the new T&C's it doesn't stipulate this.0 -
So, from what I have read here, is it correct that Halifax, Co-op & Barclays all allow multiple direct debits from the same account each month counts towards meeting the 2 or 4 requirement. So a weekly direct debit would sort out each account?
And that TSB is the exception in that they require two separate companies for the reward payment?0 -
No Halifax actually stipulate 2 different DD so it needs 2 mandates. Where Co-op say just 4 DD so yes weekly would be OK for this, as I use 4 chip DD going into the same account and Barclays now just says £3.50 on each of your first 2 DD but I can't confirm this until April if weekly will work (though Mchambers says yes).0

Does anyone know whether the 3 DDs on the Tesco currrent account need to be from 3 different mandates? or can I have, say, 3 same gym memberhips, or 3 requests from my paypal account, etc. ?

The conditions state "To earn interest, each statement month you must pay in at least £750 and have at least three direct debits paid from your account (excluding direct debits to a Tesco Bank savings account)".
As it doesn't say they have to be different mandates then 1 paying out 3 times (such as PayPal) should be sufficient but I cannot confirm this from my own experience.
Unless the 3 same gym memberhips are paid in one consolidated amount then there would be 3 DD mandates anyway. I can confirm this meets the qualifying conditions as my 3 DDs are with one company.0 -
I thought PayPal removed the direct debit ability?0

Saga telephone easy access. I understand this is a telephone banking. But Could you get online access? If so what do I need to do to get online access? Thanks0

I'm not aware of any limit.I don't do "low" (value) DDs...that's too much abuse in my view (and possibly one reason why Tesco are removing the facility). After all, if you set them all up for the same day the end result is the same isn't it?
Do you mind sharing, which account is capable of generating 8dd each?0 -
