Well I was originally going to do plum. But when I asked them they said even if it comes out 4 times a month it still only counts as 1 so I wasn't sure as I've seen other people say it was fine.
Depends which bank. Barclays and Co-Op, one direct debit coming out multiple times each month counts. Other banks require different direct debits from different sources
Yeah it's Barclays I was looking at. That makes it easier then. Son is having problems adding new card/bank details to PayPal but has set plum up without issue. Thank you.

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

I've found with PayPal, as well as sort code and account number, it needs the debit card details as well to function correctly. Not sure why

Anyone use Vanguard Investor for direct debits?
Is it possible to set one up for £1 monthly to add as cash to general investment account?

No, it doesnt. If you link with card details then its not using direct debit.

They made it complex to add bank accounts and PayPal disabled the add money feature in my app, I complained and they told me its not supported in the uk (which their t&c backed up) and started asking questions why I was doing it. So I send money via friends and family instead

Noticed it in another discussion, but apparently the Currensea travel debit card can be linked to your current account and is funded by direct debit. Haven't tried it myself. Discussed here in more detail: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6423487/currensea-easy-10-from-top-cashback
  • Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has used a site called Small Direct Debit? If I set up 2 DDs with them, would they count for the current Santander and TSB switching offers respectively? The site is https://smalldirectdebit.co.uk/cheap-direct-debits/

In order to use the direct debit facility, I had to add my debit card details

Yes my Paypal add money feature in my app has been disabled too.  It worked for about 5 transactions and then stopped.  I had 2 bank accounts added and both stopped . xx
  • I've Barclays and NatWest linked.  Both worked fine , one per week on each account for about 3 weeks.  I now get an error message when i click on add money via their paypal app

I used this site a while ago for an extra direct debit and it counted. I recall it being fairly straightforward to set up and also to cancel at a later date.
