  • i make the french bread ones all the time, but 1 of the best pizza's ive had is those waitrose based ones! apart from REAL italian pizza's of course ;)

these pizza's arnt for kids either, just me!! i love um.

My folks do have a bread maker, but seems a bit long winded to make the bases! by the time im home, and very hungry, its proberly too late!

Will try to look out for some pizza bases in some other shops.
  • If I'm in a bit of a hurry - or just can't be bothered! I will often use ready made Naan bread as the base. These are often reduced in the bread section of the supermarkets and can sometimes be picked up for 10p each - they freeze well so I stock up if I find them cneap. I usually use a tin or jar of curry sauce in place of tomato sauce, some left over chicken and top with grated cheese. Fusion Food!

Waitrose still do them I've seen them near the bread but I might give making my own a go only it sounds like hard work if you dont have a breadmaker.

Not at all. I can make the dough by hand from start to finish in about 10 mins for thin crust Italien style. I make it in a morning before work and just leave it out to rise during the day. Never had a problem doing this before (I would never do this with bread though).

From watching Ready Steady Cook, I made a microwave chocolate cake. It was quite nice surprisingly and really quick and easy to make. The best bit by far was watching it grow and grow and grow in the microwave, had my mum and OH fascinated!!

Thanks for the easy pizza recipe- cheap and easy, what more could we ask for?! (Ainsley to come round and cook it for us! :D )

I make pizza by toasting one side of a pitta bread, then putting tomato puree and some grated cheese and a few dried herbs on the other and shoving it back under the grill. O.K, it's not really pizza but cheese on toast but it is really yummy!
  • OH uses the BM to make fantastic pizza dough. Just the basic recipe that came with the BM and does 3 small or 2 medium pizza bases. They are scrummy and taste better than pizzahut ;)

He normally makes 3 bases up, cooks 1 and freezes the other 2. He has these for his lunch and literally costs pennies :D

  • We have just enjoyed our second HM pizza, and as far as I am concerned it was perfect. :j

However, when asked for constructive criticism, my 9 year old son said "Next time can you make the pepperoni stick to the base please?".

Short of adding a dollop of UHU to the tomato sauce, does anyone have a suggestion?

LOL - you could try making the tomato sauce less runny and bung on more cheese! Failing that, the PVA should work wonders! :D
  • I did the sauce yesterday and stuck it int he fridge. I noticed it was a bit watery today, but flung it on anyway. How would I go about making it thicker? Cornflour? Boiling it up for longer????

I will do a quick search and see if I can find a better sauce recipe.
