Can I just ask about my case, please?

I advertised a radio taken out of my Fiat Punto. It was working when I took it out. I advertised it would work with a Punto of that year. The buyer who bought it had a completely different Fiat. He plugged it in, and it didn't work. Although the plugs were the same, the wiring is different. The incorrect wiring blew the radio up.

The buyer complained to ebay, who immediately gave him his money back and took it out of my paypal account. They asked me about it, and I explained as above, but they completely disregarded what I said.

That doesn't seem fair to me. The buyer sent the radio back to me, but there's no value left in it, is there?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Hang around a bit..........a few will be along soon telling you that you should have asked lots of questions from the buyer.

You sold a radio for a Fiat Punto..........the rest is up to the buyer in my view. But then I am sure I will be wrong and a bad bad Ebayer who is going to hell!! lol

I have actually owned a Fiat Punto at some point in my life. I brought a radio for it (new) and isn't it that it needs a special cradle, rather than the radio only works with Puntos?

Its proving that it was the buyer at fault, rather than the actual radio. You'd need examinations of the car, the radio, experts..... There is just no time or money for Ebay to do that.

ignore scd3scd4 and their lack of any help.

Do you know what car they plugged it into?
Do you have ebay messages from the buyer saying what they did?

They got what they paid for in my view and I gave my reasons why. Its been explained what could and could not result. Nothing in set in stone or concrete. That's the purpose of a forum I would think. If its legal advise they want then I don't think you or I are the best people to ask.

Ebay likes at times to be a bit cavalier with others money......not this time.

That was all in the messages that went backwards and forwards between the buyer and me. The buyer admitted that he had plugged it into the wrong car. It's a while ago, so forgive me if I don't find all the details for you.
