Morning all. Hope you're all ok and that bumps on the head and sore eyes are healing nicely.
I've only done some flying in the kitchen this week (not that you'd notice now) as most days I am out of the house before 7am and don't get back sometimes till 7pm. I dislike it but I am not fleeing from my country, so can't complain too much.
Today I have some errands to run in town and the village and loads of WI paperwork to catch up on. I have sorted our own paperwork and finances this morning. I didn't get up till 8am which is unheard of for me.
I'm just having breakfast, will then get dressed and take the dogs for a nice long walk to blow the cobwebs away.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Sending healing vibes to poorly bumped heads and sore eyes xx
All I've done through the week is keep the recycling moving out of the house, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things but means I haven't started the weekend with kitchen worktops covered in a raft of recycling. oooh I wanted to put a little clappy man there, but for some reason I can't. :-(
Anyway relieved of recycling duty this morning I have shoved a 'very unprioritised' load in the WM: just grabbed a load of similar coloured items and, as I said, shoved them in. While they've been swishing I've completed an order from Mr T to be delivered tomorrow - which will make next week easier as we will actually have food in the house. yay. Dang it, where are the emojis when you need them.
And I FINALLY, finally, arranged a prepaid prescription certificate, which has been on my 'to do' list for a very long time and will save me ££££££.
I'm going to hang out the washing, put the next load in, then go have a cuppa with my aged p's. Mum had a TIA yesterday (bit traumatic driving past the house to go to work and seeing the ambulance in the drive!! cue: sudden halt (nothing behind me thank goodness) and unplanned scurry in to find out what's going on. Mum said 'come with me', Dad said 'go to work' - so I went to work and he went with her to the hospital and kept me updated. I called in on my way home from work and she was sat watching telly in her nightie looking as much a picture of health as anyone can do with Parkinson's, a permanently dislocated shoulder, and a permanently dislocated hip. And breathe...
Might check the weather forecast before I hang out the washing.
Catch you later

Ouch LW! I hope the bump is getting better this morning.
I took advantage of DH going off early this morning to have a lie in. Seeing as he didn't have to go to work yesterday but I did, I thought it was only fair...
The kitchen has been put back into order, as I didn't do it last night, beyond turning the dw on. DD and I then caught up on strictly, which was more enjoyable than washing pans. WM has just finished, but I think that if I hang the load out you might just see it come flying past you wherever you may be in the country, it's so windy out there.
It's off to take DD riding in a bit, DH will be late back then is turning around back off out again. He's also away next week working, so I'm not best pleased.
Right, off to sort the washing out, then there is a bag for the cs / rubbish that needs sorting.0 -
First of two wash loads in machine. Forgot to mention two charity bags have left the house this week. Breakfast dishes washed and left to hygienically dry! Just going to sort out rubbish and recycling and then have that walk.Spend less now, work less later.0

Woke up at 7, made a coffee, Woke up at 8, drank cool coffee, woke up just before ten and got up!
So much to do - hardly know where to start! Just finishing breakfast!
Might start with stripping my bed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Woke up at 11.15am and was just sitting down drinking tea as the deliveries came (had a bunch of Come and Collect Your Parcel From Somewhere Impossible to Get To Without a Car cards during the week, which was rather annoying).
Currently debating whether to attack the kitchen - or Himself - with a wet mop, as he's gone back to bed after making the tea due to 'not sleeping very well'.
My stereo downstairs doesn't have normal speakers. It's connected to two parts of what was originally a full wall of PA for an air show. So it has a bit of oomph.
I'm trying to decide between Queen, Madness, Saint-Saens and a bit of Wagner, Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash or Psychobilly at silly volume now.
Hmmm. I think some Misfits might shake him out of bed. Project 1950, anybody?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Haha Jojo.
Dogs have been walked and I did my errand in the village but not the town as the bypass is closed and I wasn’t going to sit in the queue on the diversion route.

Himself has just skulked off to the shops to get something for breakfast, having retreated to the relative safety of the bathroom for 45mins after he crept downstairs at 2pm and put white bed linen into the WM I was in the process of loading with his dark stuff and switched it on - I came back down carrying a bundle of his socks and T-shirts worn at gigs/rehearsals over the last fortnight that I'd tracked down to their lair under the bed purely through their whiff to see the very expensive sheets through the WM window as it was slowly beginning to fill with dye infused water.
There may have been a mention or two of how irked I am to be cleaning the s*dding kitchen of everything that's been used or cooked in there for the last s*dding week when I did exactly the s*dding same last s*dding Saturday and don't want to be spending every s*dding day of my s*dding week off cleaning up his s*dding mess and why is he interfering with the S*dding washing when I turned by back for 2 s*dding minutes to drag out his stinking s*dding socks out from under the s*dding bed. *
* the word s*dding may have been replaced with another slightly stronger word, but I suspect the frequency was pretty much identical.
Sink scrubbed, along with the washing up bowl.
Vagrant mugs and glasses retrieved from the spare room. Meaning all but 3 of them.
Washing up done and in drainer rack.
Hob cleaned.
Chopping board scrubbed.
Table found underneath two foot of gibble.
Table moved to main part of kitchen.
Fridge and freezer pulled out and the backs swept of furry tumbleweed. Thankfully, no signs of rodent or other hideous lifeforms taking up residence (Idiot Cat has been stopped from depositing mice there before now).
Fridge and freezer moved to corner where table had been.
Wobbly seats for table located behind drum kit and put back with table.
Kitchen Floor swept. It needs a damn good scrub with boiling water, bleach and a brush. Or the lino completely replaced, which might be quicker if I continue wait for him to do it as he's been promising.
Cats fed and hoyed out into the garden because they refused to go out there yesterday due to the weather, with the inevitable result in the downstairs bathroom.
Inevitable result of cats' garden refusal cleaned.
Living room floor swept, including the funny gaps where cat fluff accumulates unseen.
Once he's back, the bath, sinks and loos need cleaning.
Just going to take the wet washing out and stick it into the TD (it's still blowing a hooley out there today and I don't fancy climbing over fences to get the sheets back) and then have a coffee.
ETA: 5pm
Bed linen in TD, second washload on.
Appliances cleaned on outside
Upstairs bathroom is sparkling after about ten minutes - tip old loo roll inners into bin bag (why can't they go into the bin beside the toilet in the first place - or the contact lens packets, for that matter?), Properly empty bottles into bin bag, cleaner down pan, wipe over top of loo, different sponge for rest of room, quick scrub with scouring powder on bath to try to keep psoriasis treatment stuff stains to a minimum, quick rinse, use sponge to wipe from back wall skirting down across floor, shove into bin bag hanging off door handle & take downstairs to put into recycling with bath mat ready to go into next washload in the other hand, all finished.
Himself is currently scrubbing the kitchen floor. Extremely slowly. But I was nice, I pointed out (kindly) that the old fashioned way of holding the brush with both hands is easier on the back, arms and wrist, especially if you wipe the cleaning area (the tiny patch directly in front of you) with a damp cloth immediately afterwards to minimise puddles and streaks. Or, as he's started halfway across the kitchen, from getting trapped in a corner surrounded by bleachy stuff.
I have put the kettle on again and will be sitting at my now reclaimed kitchen table to drink it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Blimey Jojo what a list of achievements, I was still trying to decide between Queen and Madness. My 18 year old loves a bit of Johnny Cash and is known to play it at full volume, my dearly missed FIL will never be forgotten while we have a bit of I Walk the Line going on. Interesting to hear it complete with DS2s rap music.
So, out last night with some friends. Teenage offspring troubles being a lot of the discussion going on. I came home counting my blessings which probably did me good.
Did a bit of voluntary work this morning. Some laundry done and dried, general hoovering, dusting, tidying at a leisurely pace. Made a chicken and ham pie for tea. Have now lit the fire and some candles, it is very stormy outside.
Roudtuit hope your Mum is OK.0 -
3rd load of washing done and in TD. I know it's not particularly eco friendly or economical, but it means things are dry. 4th load in machine.
Himself is quietly making dinner, having dealt with one load of drying and made the bed properly (ie, with a base sheet and changing pillowcases, plus adding a blanket on the foot to deflect feline attentions at night - think he's worked out I am allowing the Idiot Cat to come in the bedroom tonight, whether he likes it or not.
Have also retrieved the cat bed from the cupboard under the stairs and put it in the new cosy corner (between the fridge and the cupboard) for the Grumpy Fluffy Cat. It will take Idiot Cat at least a day to notice and the chances are that he's forgotten it was his in the first place, especially as I've just put the fake fur throw over the sofa.
Currently transferring some 40s movies onto an SD card so I can veg out watching I Married a Witch tonight. Just not in the mood for the 21st Century right now. Well, except for the technology, that is.
I'm sure another cup of tea is in order, though.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
