After my reasonably good start to the week, it all went suddenly downhill when I had an unfortunate encounter with a writing desk on Wednesday evening.
    It went thus:
    1. Wolfy needs hole-punch from writing desk, goes into spare room to fetch same.
    2. Finds hole-punch, removes it from writing desk, closes flap of writing desk.
    3. Key to writing desk falls out of keyhole onto floor.
    4. Wolfy bends to retrieve key from floor...... Are you following so far?
    5. Writing desk flap falls and dings Wolfy a good'un on the head.
    6. HHHOOOOWWWWWWLLLLLLL

Poor Wolfy hope you are ok x

    Pots washed
  • Hope you don't have too much of a lump, LW

Kitchen vaguely attempted when I got in yesterday, knackered after a resounding success of the choir thingummiwotsit, but Himself suggested going to a gig at a pub which does rather good veggie/vegan food, so I went along on condition of receiving a mushroom & halloumi burger and chips. And I tried a black chai masala for the first time - it reminded me of cake mixture without the cake added.

Sort of stumbled my way through the last day of school and got back to a still not quite right kitchen, so put in an order for Chinese.

In between stuffing prawn balls and squid, Himself has been persuaded that the coming days will be partly used to get the house in better shape. I will deal with the bathrooms myself, the kitchen is going to have a good bottoming between us and the other rooms will be attacked in bits. By Friday, I want the place practically perfect, as the Christmas half term is going to be insanely busy and it should help to start from how I want things to be maintained - particularly if he gets the job he's applied for (the interview's been postponed due to sickness, apparently ), as there will be work shirts to deal with for the first time.

Anyhow, tonight is for slumping in front of the telly and not having to do anything I don't want to tomorrow morning.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Evening everyone

Sounds like you're doing well Mademoiselle - things do kind of slot into place as the weeks go by. Keep going and you'll be surprised at the end of the first couple of months.

Glad to read you're okay Valli and hope you enjoyed your first day

Ow ouch LW - trust you're feeling a bit better by now

    Usual stuff done
Bed stripped, hoovered and mattress turned. Clean bedding done.
All washing/drying done, folded and put away.

MAD - I bought some new patent shoe cleaner and cleaned all my shoes today - it was quite a long job.

Hugs, sticks and spoons if you're needing some extra
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend

Ouch, LW! Hope you feel better soon x

Had a good 2 days away. Visited DD and family; GDS1+2 did a concert for us on cornet and saxophone - the latter after only 3 lessons, and very tuneful :) - and in return we helped with homework ; spent a day at a church resources exhibition and heard Terry Waite speak very movingly about his experiences as a hostage in the late 1980s-early 90s. We also visited another NT property and spotted a sign to "Dizzy's cafe" - so now we know what Dizzy Imp is doing in her spare time!

This morning I fetched Rosie from kennels. She was apparently a model guest, very happy there, but is obviously even happier to be home again :) We have done two long walks today and she has had a good run round the field with a spaniel and a golden retriever.

Not much else has been achieved, as I spent the afternoon cuddling a friend's baby :D
  • Things didn't much go to plan for me this week. Monday was good start, completed level 2 which I was pleased with since clearing 'gibble' took nearly an hour alone. Then on Tuesday woke to find my iritis ha flared up so spent most of the day sitting around in eye casualty and then back home but with blurred vision so nothing got done. Wednesday still couldn't see well and just generally felt sorry for myself, Then onto Thursday and Friday where I have my little one with me. Stayed on top of of the daily jobs just about, but wasn't feeling up to much.

Eyes and vision under control now though so hopefully next week can be a fresh start to move on from the setbacks this week.
