I bring it up regularly. I reckon almost none of them will be happy anyway.

Do you accept that the broader the referendum question, the easier it is to attribute the voters with specific characteristics?

So we have Brexiters = far right; Remainers = looney left...the same old cliche's.

IMO the real precursor referendum should have focussed on the main topic most people put high on their list >> EU migration and FOM. That seems narrow enough to get a clear response.

They didn't ask this because they knew it's a difficult topic. To me that's bottling it.

If you feel that mass people influx has changed your competition for jobs; access to services; even your rent; you are entitled to express this.

Equally, if your income relies on access to plentiful labour source then you are also entitled to express this.

I don’t get this party political right wing Tory Brexit thing.
    ...

It's only right wing when it's UK exiting from an Union, or so we are supposed to think.

If it's Scotland exiting a smaller Union, then it's driven by the SNP who claim to have quite left of centre credentials.

    Why this inconsistency?

Perhaps because people tailor their grievance to suit their political bias?
    Just a thought. :)

The right wing element of Brexit is the immigration/foreigners stuff. That doesn't exist with Scottish independence (we welcome migrants).

Scottish independence is about having the ability to make our own decisions (sovereignty) and to stop getting shafted by Westminster. It's now also about getting us back into the EU, where we get more sovereignty than we do under Westminster.

I'm pretty sure you can see the distinction.

Lots of angry comments on the daily mail website for the most part, a few badly organised protests and a small surge in UKIP votes.

I'm not even sure what the point of this line of questioning is, since we were talking about Lords going against "the will of the people", and following "the will of the people" will upset almost all of the people, whilst only benefiting the elites.

It's just how you sell nationalism. Anti EU / Anti Westminster; it's the same rebellion against the Union.

That much quoted 'will of the people' is just waffle.
About 25% of Britons supported air strikes against Syria. They happened anyway.
'Will of the people' only seems to be relevant when it suits the agenda of the brexiteer ultras.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Apologies, I hadn’t realised you were a Scottish Nationalist and therefore in favour of the dismantling of the U.K. State. My bad.
