Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

You've got this back to front.
Look at who the most popular political personalities are on YouTube. Nearly all right wing. These folk are doing global tours like rock stars, there is no left wing equivalent. These rock stars of politics include the likes of Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, Milo and styxhexenhammer666.
Once upon a time the conservative establishment wouldn't tolerate free speech, obscenity, offence.
Now the liberal/left establishment is the authoritarian hierarchy bearing down on speech and thought. Kids always reject being told what to do and say.
You wont be aware of any of this, you're too MSM in your outlook.
Yeah no one like Bernie Sanders or Jeremy Corbyn, particularly young people.
Your problem Lorna is that you are trapped in an echo chamber defined by Google's algorithms of the type of person it has decided you are.
Try and break out, it is possible. And lay off the Ben Shapiro - that kind of thing will make a person ugly on the inside.0 -

Sorry, I was trying to infer your point from the words you wrote. Your point is that I'm cruel? Why?What is discrediting about congratulating you on the accuracy of your chosen username? You chose it and at least yours honestly describes your posting style unlike say "mayonnaise" or "[STRIKE]ilovehouses[/STRIKE]" ilovepringles (although the latter might explain a lot).
Because I don't agree with you and keep asking lots of difficult questions like "how?" and "why?"?
I assumed that since you went to the hassle of figuring out my name isn't English, and then translating it (not even using google, since google gets the interpretation correct. Herzlos => Herz (heart) los (less)).
In your opinion. 17 million people also agreed with me.Fortunately over 17 million people saw more clearly than you.Where did I say you were German? I said your username was German. Like the others desperate to jump on a bashing bandwagon, do you similarly lack the nous to be able to distinguish the difference? That would explain why the remainer attitude, mind.
I'm aware of the words you used. You pointed out my username was German and implied that my "own" weren't in the UK. If that isn't what you meant, then word your sentences better.
I'm not offended or bashing, just pointing out that your suggestion is wrong. Nor do I really care if you don't think I'm patriotic (or whatever) enough because I have the cheek to speak foreign languages (I also know some Spanish and Arabic).
That leads to an interesting thought; I wonder what the correlation is between leave/remain and languages spoken?0 -

Yep. We have a party in power that has usurped the voter base of the xenophobic party by adopting wholesale the policies of said xenophobic party. No, we just have a xenophobic government instead. That's much better.
At least on the continent, the xenophobes are - generally - sitting on the opposition benches.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

It's tough for the UK team because they've agreed to a backstop which would be politically damaging for the government but perfectly acceptable to Ireland and the EU.
I wonder if the 'magical thinking' will be a customs union lite with a new name to throw the hard brexiteers off the scent. I was thinking Union Douanière might do the trick.
Fortunately you’ve already covered your backside by deciding that any leaver who says they’re happy with whatever the outcome is is a liar.0 -
Neither does Westminster. At least some eu grant money makes it to the abandoned parts of Britain.
Yeah, feed them scraps and keep them happy.
I seem to recall one Tony Blair used to like doing that. Bribe the poor with laptops and stuff.
As far as someone in the Northern counties was concerned, nobody from either Westminster OR the EU cared about them.
That right there sets the seeds for the basis of an anti-establishment vote.
So what do Remain team do? Choose one David Cameron as the head honcho !! Mr Establishment himself. Unbelievable!
Don't blame the ragtag Leave bunch for blowing the referendum. It was people like smug Osborne and out of touch Dave Cameron who failed. You can't really blame Jeremy Corbyn...he managed to find a cheap used cloaking device off the auction sites. He was useless in his own particular style.
Of course it's easier to rewrite a different story as to how the West was lost...blame some xenophobic notion. Look closer to home for the ineptness.0 -
Oh right, yes a lot makes sense now.
Edit - TBF, if people didn't come back when they were PPRd, then there would be no posts later than 2013.
Perhaps we should raise a toast to absent [STRIKE]friends [/STRIKE]posters.
...saying that does indeed remind me of some of them, wonder why...0 -

I understand they felt that way, but which organization was driving most of the redevelopment? Who is more likely to help them in future? So what do Remain team do? Choose one David Cameron as the head honcho !! Mr Establishment himself. Unbelievable!
Whilst leave was heading by such stalwarts of anti-establishment as Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson! So your argument holds no water there. Cameron was PM, who else would they have used?0 -

A PM is supposed to act for all citizens, and it's a poor PM who is seen as partisan in an issue which divided the country so much.
Just look to recent history. I am no follower of Gordon Brown but some people thought highly of his intervention in the Scottish referendum because he was seen as outside of the parties there.
It's obvious why Nigel Farage would be linked to the Leave campaign...think about it.
The Remain campaign could have found any pro-Europe statesman like character. It's just beyond stupid that they picked Dave C.
Tbh, I don't really worry about how people rewrite voter's decision making. You do what needs to be done to get your side over the line. It's always been thus, and everyone knows politics is a dirty business.0 -

How sweet, some of the billions we pay the EU ends up in what the EU decides is "the abandoned parts of Britain" and all the while the other £8.5 billion plus per year that the EU takes goes towards funding the eastern EU factories that cause these "abandoned parts of Britain" in the first place"! Typical EU logic there a la Robin Hood.0 -

The irony is that the money comes from a fund they call the "social cohesion" fund, hehe.
Not much cohesion now is there.0
