Indeed.
For better or worse the UK is going to be a beacon for free trade, the EU and its penchant for a 20th century style semi-closed market will be challenged by that fact. Characters like our friend from Luxembourg will unfortunately struggle with the concept, he’s probably lived in ‘Euroland central’ for too long.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
The fundamental difference between Leavers & Remainers for me is that where we see an issue that needs to be resolved, Remainers see an insurmountable problem that is somehow fixed in aspic for all time, so we just have to accept this or give up.
You can call this Unicorns & Rainbows if you please, but we call it common sense.
The difference I see is that the remainers are asking questions and trying to figure out how it'll work and the leavers seem happy to feel it'll just work somehow.0 -

Sadly thats just not true is it, remainers are looking for something, anything in the hope that in some way it will thwart brexit...
Leavers are just getting on with it..."I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -

What exactly do you think you're doing that's different to what I'm doing?
Yes, I'm sure it would be great to be able to devote my life to thwarting brexit but I've got a mortgage to pay. Try not to get caught up in Conrad's silly game of remainers and leavers. That game finished nearly two years ago.
Many Brexiters seem to have a lot of time on their hands to spend angsting about Brexit.
I couldn’t possible speculate as to why...0 -

My industry is impacted by Brexit and we don’t think it’s an opportunity and don’t want it.
I haven’t met anyone who actually is in the firing line of being the people who have to resolve the stampede of issues caused by Brexit, who want it.
I have met a number of Brexit voters who appear to think gold coins are going to begin raining out of the sky into their pockets next summer.
I can only say if they are relying on my part of the UK economy to do that for them, they are going to be very disappointed.0 -
Same for mine. Brexit is going to cost us more and save us nothing (except maybe .uk wages).Sadly thats just not true is it, remainers are looking for something, anything in the hope that in some way it will thwart brexit...

Is that why leavers are surprisingly silent when asked to provide any detail (like my trading query on the last page)?
I understand some people don't care about details, but some of us find them important.
That's why I've been asking without success for 2 years so far.0 -
Out of interest, what industries do you work in Arklight and Herzlos?
I think there is a lot of the service sector nervous, as the easier negotiations appear to be around manufacturing. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It looks like leavers were mostly brainwashed by facebook by campaigns involving illegal data analytics.
I guess they'll say more when someone with an agenda pays for them to.Sadly thats just not true is it, remainers are looking for something, anything in the hope that in some way it will thwart brexit...

From my experience of leavers "getting on with it" means "waiting for the crock of gold to appear at the end of the rainbow".
Leavers don't need to thwart brexit, when enough people realise just what a crock it is then it will happen anyway. It looks like the "don't knows" are already realising it.0 -
An interesting read in the New Statesman and food for thought (pun intentional) for Herzlos' earlier question as to how the UK could benefit and create jobs after Brexit.
"How the UK can feed the world after Brexit"
https://www.newstatesman.com/spotlight/manufacturing/2018/03/how-uk-can-feed-world-after-brexit
I'm pretty sure it's not the "will of the people" to feed the world, nor is it the will of the uk government. We don't even grow enough food for ourselves & if we apply the "will of the people" and stop the immigrants coming here to pick it, then we will be producing less.
They won't be sending 350 million a week to the NHS either. The magic beans are just beans.0
