What works for whom though? For me this present Govmt 'does not work'. Not for selfish reasons but I would contend that Tory Govmts don't work for people who are young, poor, disadvantaged, vulnerable etc. In my post I was adding debt and propery ownership as reasons why people don't rebel. I think we worship house ownership in this country and see it as symbolic of having 'made it'....I'm contending that's rather short sighted for the reasons I've given.0 -
Given that radical capitalism doesn't seem to be working, socialism might be worth a try? I mean, all we have to do is look after the needy, it's not that radical.0

If either main party can somehow manage to put out a vaguely centrist leader at the next election then they will get my vote, I doubt they will though, I suspect the Tories will go to the Right with their next leader and Labour will stay with Corbyn.0 -

Because that has worked out so well for Venezuela, hasn't it? Or do you just want Corby as a leader for life like China has just decided with Xi Jinping?0 -
