Well May's gigantic screeching U-turn on live TV today was much more interesting than her usual 'car crash TV' moments.
WTO terms ruled out as not good enough for Britain.
Canada style FTA ruled out as not good enough for Britain.
'A customs arrangement' with no border checks to replace 'the customs union' with no border checks.
Intends to mirror EU regulations moving forward.
Wants the UK to stay in all the EU regulatory agencies, such as medicine, EASA, etc.
Reality appears to be setting in....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
-- President John F. Kennedy”0 -
The press are never going to let her live it down :beer:0

I remember the good old days when Barnier categorically refused to talk trade and withdrawal in parallel, despite the UKs position that the two were inherently linked.
Strange then that we now seem to be doing exactly that. Almost as though the EU have been completely mugged off and finally realised they got knack all actually confirmed in December.
But still, well done the EU on sticking to those principles.
There are NO trade talks at the moment.
The transition agreement is about to be discussed AFTER the legal phase one talks have been agreed. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Getting there :-)'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Matt, we moved on from that discussion.
Nobody (few exceptions) is talking about staying in the EU anymore.
I suspect that Britain will leave the EU. I am totally against it and think it is a huge mistake that has and will continue to damage the UK for decades to come.
However the confusing and uncertain lead up to leaving either at the end of March 2029, or the end of December 2020 or years into the future will be marked by tens of thousands of small cuts that will change Britain, the economy and social cohesion for the worse for a lifetime. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

I could get behind a brexit like that. Hell, if May can pull that off I'll vote Tory for the rest of my life.0
