Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

It certainly goes to show something.
"Brexiters like you" eh!
Preconceptions are not the same as truths.
I voted remain, my family lives in Europe, I've worked over 30 years in Europe. I am damaged by Brexit.
But I'm not going to sit on my Bum moaning and groaning, irrationally mouthing tired rejected arguments of 2 years ago, refusing to acknowledge that the UK has made its choice, and contributing nothing but negativity. It is a time for Brits to support the country, not try and sabotage our future.0 -

Well, things are looking up.

Shouldn!!!8217;t they also be co-operating with us.
They are applying the rules and represent the interests of 27 states. We are awkward neighbours who need to be put in our place and we will be. Everyone knows the way this is going:-

While I believe any discussion about the political future of the EU off topic a number of posters have shown great interest in European Elections. They have often commented in this thread showing that the elections in Holland, Austria, France and lately Germany have occupied their thoughts.
With the Italian election due in less than 4 weeks on March 4th they are probably gathering information as I type.
The London School of Economics have regular lectures that are recorded which are then available for anyone to listen to.
Recently this was recorded on 31st January.
What do the Italian Elections mean for Europe.
It is just over 80 minutes and covers the various political runners, statistics, background, the economic issues being faced and the various outcomes.
I found it very informative, unbiased and would consider anyone commentating here on the likely outcome invaluable. While still being off topic.

Uh oh. Facts.
From a 'yooniversity' no less.
Facts and yooniversities don’t go down very well around here. Facts FROM yooniversities, well they is worse than lies.0 -
Skills shortages are a good thing now?
Meeting skills shortages by simply importing labour is a very short term view. As enables companies not to expend money by investing in younger people. Youth unemployment is very sticky. Without an opportunity to train in a skill people will struggle in this technological age. Unskilled retail and service orientated work isn't the way to create wealth for the country as a whole.0 -

How about this rule?

That doesn’t sound much like co-operating and that is the problem You want us to co-operate with EU but you are happy for them to put us in our place as you put, because we voted to leave. I voted remain and am rapidly falling out of favour with the EU if they are prepared to treat one of thier biggest markets like they are I don’t think it reflects well on them.
Everone knew how they would react. It's no suprise. They have a project and we are a hindrance so will pay the price. People are making a mistake if they think this is just about trade. It isn’t.... Its highly political......that is why we will become poorer. We are outnumbered and outgunned by our nearest neighbours. They have no intention of allowing us to prosper on our own. They also know we have problems with the Irish border, a remainer majority Scotland and an almost split down the middle population. There is no unity in Britain and there isn't going to be anytime soon.0 -
If we sell the NHS to our American cousins, I'm sure they would cut us some really good deals and back us through the interim of Brexit.
May is working out the price with BoJo and Mogg right now. I'm just hoping that lovely Diane A isn't the one left in charge of the calculator.0 -
Don't be so naive....The EU will make an example of us. Whether that is right or wrong changes nothing. It is hard politics. The point is we will be poorer and will go through a hard time because of it.0
