Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

Germany is where I'll most likely end up in the event of a hard Brexit. Along with my job and taxes.
That's if it is as you suggest lost and not just replaced by another worker.

"From Poland to Austria and Hungary, a new nationalism and hostility to migrants are rife. What does the spread of ‘illiberalism’ mean for the rest of Europe?"“There is a debate about the future of Europe: whether it can remain an alliance of nation states, or whether it should become an empire. I don’t believe in empires. Where is the Soviet Union now? Where is the Third Reich? Where is the Ottoman empire? Where is the British Empire? Meanwhile, Hungary is still here. This is a state which is 1,100 years old.”“Of course, the problem is that the fact that no one really wants to destroy the European Union isn’t a guarantee that it isn’t going to disintegrate. Disintegration of empires is rarely an intention – it’s usually a traffic accident. Empires tend to disintegrate from the centre, not from the periphery.
“If Hungary were to leave the EU, no one would notice. The problem with the European Union comes when Germany decides it no longer has the patience to deal with this mess.”
If there IS another election in Germany you might just see Germany deciding exactly this.0 -

Mathias Doepfner, a German says here:

Just a few more for Herzlos (to go with my earlier links) who says that I'm "the first person I've seen who believed the UK will be better off".
First article sounded good bit installed, will investigate further.
Second read we'll but the benefits are caveated by the government ddddoing a good job. Slags May a lot but doesn't go into any reasons why Brexit will be a good thing. Also advocates going wto.
Third is from before the refendum so I didn't waste time reading it.
So we're the setting better but I remain unconvinced. I guess we won't find out until the dust settles .0 -

It's a small loss for the economy. I'd take my job with me and wouldn't be replaced anyway, so no other worked would fill the void. How many small losses can you take?0 -

That makes it sound like you don't understand economics.
It doesn't matter too much though. Reese mogg is pursuing a hard brexit backed by a report which predicts the end of uk manufacturing and the widening of income gap. Within ten years all the brexiters (who are still alive) will be demanding we get back into the EU, because that isn't the tea party they voted for.0 -

Are you getting paranoid? You don't think it's possible that two people who don't know each other would disagree with you? I stand by my assertion though, you don't understand economics.tracey3596 wrote: »"UK better placed to cope with Brexit than I thought, admits former Tory Treasury minister and leading Remainer"

I lost four stone, I'm better placed to win the london marathon next year. I won't, but I'm better placed. Of course the leavers thought he was an idiot who was always wrong, but now the telegraph have made it look like he thinks brexit is a great idea then he's obviously right. That is magical thinking for you, powered by xenophobia..0 -

Great though it might be, when are you going to stop waffling and answer the questions you were asked?
Where's your evidence of anti-Brexit experts being proven right or of ill-effects of Brexit so far?
Bilious diatribe like yours is no substitute for hard fact, much though you might wish it was.
THAT'S your "magical thinking" is it?

My observation earlier wasn't related to economics. Always interested to know what one person does that cannot be replicated. You are trying to change the topic. Hence my retort.0
