And yet if there were an election tomorrow you would march right out and put an X next to whatever name has "Conservative" written by it without even looking. It could be a goose in a blue rosette, couldn't it? In fact judging by the miserable state of the Tory party, that would be an improvement over most of their candidates.
I’ve never voted Tory but the one thing I wouldn’t do is Vote for the present Labour Party which has just as low level of MPs if not worse.0 -
I also think that the difficult process of leaving the EU is not in the long term interests of Britain.
I also believe in Democracy.
I only hope that between now and March 2019 the true horror and damage will become apparent and the British people will call for the complex process of leaving the EU to be reversed.
Just because Britain goes through the damaging process to leave will not stop me believing it’s wrong.
We just have to wait and see what happens Week by week and month by month.0 -

Brexit means Brexit indeed.
Some people voted leave as they want a reduction in immigration, will Brexit achieve that?
Some voted to leave as they wanted better trade deals, will Brexit achieve that?
Some wanted £350M for the NHS, so on and so forth, at least if we had another referendum after the deals have been done, people would know what they are voting for.
People voted for a myriad of different reasons, based on what they had been told by the leave campaign and the media. Some of it is true, some not.
I voted Remain as I could see both sides were lying but at least with Remain you know what you are getting, rather than just hoping for the best.
Ultimately I don't see it will make a lot of difference either way in the long run, but the short to medium term could be very turbulent.
We will never have true democracy in the UK whilst we have first past the post and the House of Lords, but "take back control" if you will.
I don’t necessarily believe in a further referendum but remember, unless other things change that 2nd referendum you think is sensible to hold has to be held before the end of March 2019. Otherwise the result will have no effect as Britain will have left already. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Provided we are not compromised too much. I don't think you can replace many EU clients in the given time. But we can plead democracy.Advent Challenge: Money made: £0. Days to Christmas: 59.0 -
I don’t see how it can be reversed do you really think the EU would let us do that on existing terms. I voted remain and I certainly wouldn’t vote to remain if it meant adopting euro or giving up our rebate.
If we reversed the decision before Article 50 expires the legal opinion seems to be that our exit would simply be cancelled and we would return to the EU on our previous terms.0 -

We have to wait and see. It may be that if British opinion began to move against the damaging process of leaving the EU British pro Brexit politicians would suggest the EU would want new terms.
Perhaps even EU27 politicians who don’t want Britain to change its mind (I don’t know of any but they don’t need to speak up yet) would also speak about new terms even including joining the Euro to keep Britain on course to disaster. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Actually no, I think its everyones duty to turn up and vote and I have in the past put "None of the above" and spoilt the ballot paper. In 97 I actually voted Labour in the hope they would govern well and fairly but I must say in my 49yrs they have been the biggest let down for me.
I grew up under Tory Govt's of Thatcher,Major etc and wanted a change, we got a change with Blair but sadly Labour did more harm than good........
I've even voted Lib Dem which in my area is pretty much a wasted vote so no , I wouldn't vote for a goose with a Blue rosette and consider myself a Conservative with a Social conscience............:D
Just to add, the problem we currently have with Brexit is not Party political, it goes far beyond politics.0 -

There will also be legal opinion who think the opposite. That’s why lawyers earn a lot of money. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Time to move on. Raking over and over cold embers isn't going to reignite the debate. Who cares what other EU politicians think. As the one certainty is that the UK isn't high on their personal agendas.0
