Imagined  Mass immigration has totally changed this country, on Sundays round here I barely hear an English word spoken in the local supermarkets, and we live in a small town not a big city, go to a local city any time of the day and there is plenty of places that you will not see a white face or hear an English word.
What town or city near the Surrey/Hampshire border is that then?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

    Thanks mrginge!

The 40bn is not to settle future FoM arrangements. It's to cover our liabilities arising from leaving the EU.

Anyway, it won't be the average disaffected brexit voter who'll be paying it. It will be the productive side of society, entrepreneurs, risk takers, net tax payers. In other words: Remainers.
Furthermore, the average disaffected brexit voters lost interest. He/she's already been told less-than-white people won't be kicked out of the country en masse when (if) we leave, and that there won't be £350m per week extra for the NHS.

The average disaffected brexit voter's interest has moved back to what's up with Harry & Meghan and the next installment of Strictly.

I think that those at least even semi intelligent can understand that if ‘the country’ pays out 40bn and in return gets a small movement on FoM, that that would constitute a bad deal.

Being outside of that group, you seem to think it would be acceptable. Interesting. A major shift from wanting to cancel the whole thing, to wanting to pay a large amount of money to effectively do the same thing.

Then why doesn't it invest in infrastructure and housing?

The Government aren't town planners, builders or engineers...... Nor does it make steel, concrete, bricks or manufacture glass.

I'll repeat once more. The 40bn or whatever we'll be paying is not to 'get anything in return'. It's to pay for liabilities, future spending commitments we've already signed up to, pensions, etc...
Come on mrginge, it's not that difficult.

I haven't shifted an inch. Canceling the whole thing would be indeed the best course of action.
I accept this is politically unfeasible (for now;)), but the current alternative is to pay the money for the downgrade and move onto some EEA-like option.
It's crazy, I know, but then again, I didn't vote for it.

I went to a supermarket last week and I was the only English speaker there but that’s because I’m currently on holiday. When I’m back home in London it’s a different story. Of course there are foreign workers and tourists in London but I don’t for one second believe that ‘barely an English word is spoken’ in many places in England.

You seem to be unable to comprehend an overall view of the entire exit negotiations.
Which kind of confirms my previous assertion.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
There is a young woman selling Big Issue in the local town, I heard someone asking her why she was homeless, she answered in broken English that she came here to get given a home and they wouldn't give her one. That is what a lot of immigrants expect.

I recently watched BBC's "Exodus: Our Journey to Europe Continues". Any one of the interviewed in the prog would have been an asset in any country. However, their expectations of what their life would be like in Europe was completely unrealistic. One young guy ended up in Spain and was complaining that he couldn't find a job...not siht Sherlock - Spain has 25% youth unemployment.

Plus, you're talking about non-whites - can you tell me which EU states all the migrants are coming from that aren't white?
