Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

I also think full access to free market is highly unlikely but it would be in both sides interest to come to an arrangement.
I'm not sure you get your re-entry especially if we have to accept the Euro and lose rebate.
We'll accept it if it's better than our current situation. Hard brexit could apparently hurt our economy to the tune of £160bn a year. That's a lot of austerity.0 -

Another Remoaner talking down the UK economy.

What chance do we have of making a success of Brexit when UK politicians tell investors to move their money out of the UK?
Just checking: John Redwood is a Remoaner, isn't he?
Still think so?

I'd love it to not fail miserably but I know enough about politics and trade to realise that's essentially impossible.
The only saving grace of the inevitable disaster is that it'll accelerate re-entry into the EU, rather than have us endure a drawn out contraction
Classic remoaner.
No sense of forward thinking. No entrepreneurship. No self-belief.
I remember the disaster of the y2k bug and how it was going to bring down civilisation. When all the software providers simply went off an analysed their systems and fixed any issues beforehand. I know my company did. And then when planes didn’t fall out of the sky all the y2kmoaners were moaning again about how there was no problem and what a waste of time it all was.
Different scale of course but exact same principle.
Time to wake up Herzlos, we’re off and we ain’t going back.0 -
That's what they've offered. No border controls if single market and customs union.
That proves they don't want us to succeed outside the eu, they are tying our hands and feet and expecting us to sink whilst trying to swim.
Single market and customs union would probably require equal payment to that which we are making now, and it would give them the right to meddle in our country.
We want out, we want to trade with the rest of the world, we do not want to be on the ship when it sinks, however long that may take. I suggest that might be when they take on the next 10 countries that will inevitably be takers. Why should the EU be the ones to budge?
Because they have not budged an inch yet. They want everything their way which is not compatible with the UK leaving the eu.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Trade talks.Liam Fox meets US negotiators to thrash out new trade dealThe International Trade Secretary met American counterparts yesterday for two days of talks.
He was joined by the Government’s top negotiators - one of 14 working groups put together to secure deals with 21 countries including Australia and Japan.
Alongside international trade specialists, the group includes negotiators who have worked with the World Trade Organisation and the EU.Dr Fox said: “The USA is our largest single trading partner.
“As we leave the EU we have a unique opportunity to further strengthen that relationship and see more UK businesses taking advantage of the huge US appetite for our goods and services.
“As an international economic department, the immediate priority is to give businesses on both sides of the Atlantic certainty and confidence.
But we are also laying the groundwork for a potential for a future free trade agreement”.

I wonder how that's going to go....Brexit Is A ‘God-Given’ Opportunity To Steal Trade From UK Says US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross
Billionaire Wilbur Ross will be responsible for negotiating a free trade deal with the UK.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
