Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

Tromking it seems the Chequers deal was supposed to unite the cabinet and Tory party. Instead it has united almost all wings of the Brexit debate behind the view that it would deliver the worst of all possible worlds.
Yes.
We move ever nearer the situation where Brexit collapses in on itself and that includes both major parties. What price now the political class across all parties declaring that Brexit is politically impossible and announcing the referendum ‘advisory’ and therefore null and void?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Steve Bannan had an excellent interview with Nigel Farage on LBC just now.
He describes Brexit as a "daily fight" and he is right. This is a battle to the end; you either are on the winning side or the losers. The millions who were so upset with the EU they chose one of the most surprising votes in a generation will not give up the fight, I reckon.0 -

No - everyone is going to be a loser. The rabid brexiteers aren’t going to get what they want, the remainers won’t get what they want, and everyone will lose as a result of the U.K. being poorer and diminished in the world.
Anyway, what will there be to fight for? The brexiteers won’t be able to complain, as the government they voted for to get a brexit deal will have done exactly that... The only way to continue the “fight” will be through a general election, and the Tories would be terrified at that prospect at it becomes increasing clear what a massive act of self-harm the U.K. has inflicted on itself.0 -

...
Only you alone can decide what winning and losing means.
For Hamish, he believes that you can not have enough migration, and that arguments about limited resources are easily overcome. Just build more of everything.
I might value more space; less crowds; I might even think everything has a sustainable level and an unsustainable level.
It comes down to the price you are willing to pay; whichever way you cut it.0 -

1. Go back to Brussels with a simple deal: we stay in but get a full control over UK immigration. Or it’s WTO.
2a) EU accepts, referendum declared advisory, GE called so electorate can say if they agree. Massive landslide victory for Conservatives who’ll now have a mandate to keep us in the EU with just that one fundamental change of terms.
or
2b) EU rejects. GE called so electorate can say if they agree. Massive landslide victory for Conservatives who’ll now have a full mandate to take UK to WTO terms.
May won’t do it so which replacement has the vision?0 -
It'd be a good way to try and blame the EU for the UK not having a plan, but they are never going to accept EU without movement. It also wouldn't satisfy those that don't want to pay our way
She'd be better saving time and just going WTO. I'm sure they could manage to figure that out by March.
Then from the outside we can negotiate our way back in.0 -

Good article explaining where we now are.
So we're somehow humiliated by Trump, what utter nonsense, only bed wetters are so easily emotionally triggered. Trump's insults respect diversity in that he insults everyone, from Merkel to Trudeau.
Macron rolled out the red carpet for Trump and has been very pally, yet the emmotional left never pull out the 'laughing' stock card on him.
In his 2 hour LBC interview this morning, Steve Bannon explained how we can be certain the left is loosing when all they have left is insults, pulling race cards and identity polities.
So pathetic that the left still thinks it can win simply by being against Trump, what utter fools, he will wipe the floor in the mid-terms.
People are proud to be deplorable's in an epic battle with globalist elites. Bannon cited the anti-Trump London protest being far from diverse, once again it was primarily posh white people is oddball sandals with silly little posters.Restless, somebody pour me a vino.0 -

They're getting vastly more than the timid terrified Remainers, we're leaving in a big way, ok not quite what I'd want, but not bad and far closer to my aims than yours.
I've copied your post so I can remind you of your predictions that we will all suffer in a disaster, lol. All will be fine, Remaoners wallow in hysteria.Restless, somebody pour me a vino.0 -
So here!!!8217;s a radical suggestion which of course May won!!!8217;t take up:
1. Go back to Brussels with a simple deal: we stay in but get a full control over UK immigration. Or it!!!8217;s WTO.
2a) EU accepts, referendum declared advisory, GE called so electorate can say if they agree. Massive landslide victory for Conservatives who!!!8217;ll now have a mandate to keep us in the EU with just that one fundamental change of terms.

Or we could end up with Khorbyn in power, he would refuse to take us out, and a couple of years down the road we would be permanently tied to europe, in the euro and desperately broke because the unions would be ruining the country and we would have no control over our currency.
I am convinced that the eu will accept NOTHING we propose, unless it is staying in the eu and paying double what we pay now. Hopefully we will be out on WTO terms. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
