Mrs May strikes you as somebody who simply gets on with the job. Rather than looking to make news headlines.

If you mean getting on with the job of destroying the Tory party, leading a cabinet publicly at war with itself and failing to come up with any sort of brexit plan; then yes - she’s getting on with it :)

As as for not looking for headlines - what about announcing a “third way” for customs, but not saying what it actually is... if that’s not headline seeking, I don’t know what is...

Some of us ignore the noise that gets generated. Waste of energy.

Has May done anything that'd count as "getting on with the job"?

I don't think she's actually achieved anything yet.

Jaguar Land Rover also making noises about Brexit now and what it'll force them to do:

Still just project fear? How many jobs are we willing to risk?

Prepared to risk the same 500,000 we were promised would go if vote leave simply won the referendum...

Since nothing happened after the referendum I think it was wise for businesses to wait to see what was happening before moving. That's happened and they aren't liking what they see now.

It's a lot of jobs we won't be able to replace.

    Correct.
The uncertainty has been the problem.

In the last two years large numbers of Directors have sat round boardroom tables and large numbers of familys have sat round kitchen tables planning what to do. As the clock ticks down plans are needing to be acted upon.
While a family might gamble a business owes it to their shareholders, workers and the Bank to not gamble too much with their incomes, jobs and money.
A family might think with 9 months to go to a possible cliff edge there is still plenty of time to act however a business large or small may have already pulled the trigger on actions that are to the detriment of Britain.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I'm no sure who the commentator was, but an interesting point was made on Sky News yesterday.

The government has been having confidential talks with a number of large employers who have expressed concerns over not knowing what Brexit will mean for their companies in terms of market access, etc. Both parties have signed NDAs in all cases.

Many of these companies are also publicly quoted. There will come a point when the legal requirements around what they have to disclose to the markets will take a higher precedence in legal terms than the NDA as they will have a duty to disclose to their shareholders, a principle enshrined in law.

As a result, the substance of the talks will start to come out as a result of Brexit negotiations progressing so slowly.

On top of that, I wonder what'll happen should the Government have made promises to these companies under NDA which has resulted in them staying in the UK, and then the Government going back on those promises. That could result in a lot of expensive and messy legal action.

Of course, the NDA discussions could be "Look, we're not actually going to be leaving the CU/SM, we're just trying to find a way to break the news to the public".

i much prefer to believe what TM herself actually says as she did at PMs questions today when she restated we will be leaving the CU, leaving the SM, striking new global trade deals, taking control of our own borders and so on..

But if it makes you happy, you continue to believe what you want...

Considering TM's U-turning history, you still prefer to believe what she says?
    Ok then. :)
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.
