    If in doubt blame Remainers.

    Same old, same old.....

It all seems to be based on the belief that WTO terms will be fine.

In any case we still seem to be in the same phase, where Theresa May is negotiating with her cabinet as to what proposal they want to put forward that won't be accepted by the EU.

That was one of the key points from the remain side. Brexiteers were telling us that we held all of the aces and the EU would fall over themselves to give us a fantastic deal in no time at all and that one we were free of the EU we!!!8217;d have a queue of countries with deals to sign.

The first part of that has proved to be info rrect but hopefully the second part will prove to be fact.

IIRC, one of things that was agreed at the end of last year was that the U.K. could start to talk to other countries about trade deals, but that such deals could not be finally ratified/signed until after we left.

I would have thought that if we were anywhere near to any such deal the brexiteers would have been shouting about it from the rooftops... and it seems to have been very quiet.

The reality is that the rest of the world is waiting to see what a complete hash this government makes of brexit, and then screw a desperate U.K. for any deals the U.K. government will take...

If remainers were running the show, then we wouldn't be leaving the EU at all & we'd have more money and everything would be great.

It's back seat driving from Reese Mogg & Bojo that is causing all the issues.

It's politically inconvenient to reveal that all the trade deals come with clauses that say we have to let more people come from their country to study and work.

As May wants to kick foreign students out when their exams are over and let them just come back for graduation day, she's unlikely to want to bring that up.

Go after a Branson type, and there is every chance they will take some form of retaliation.

Why? Branson types keep their financial affairs off shore.

If this does indeed happen then there’s every chance that these highly paid workers may relocate completely at some point. If so there will be plenty of brexiteers saying good riddance without realising that losing this tax income and the spending that these people do will affect them.

We’ve already been told that tax rates will rise in some form to pay for the extra NHS spending. There could well be more rises to come.

Fortunately I can afford to pay more tax.

Funny how quickly banker bashing gets forgotten. The UK has withstood the reduction of many highly paid jobs in the sector. The planned headcount reductions globally. Are going to reduce the number yet further. With more banks looking to use increased levels of technology the future looks bleak for those aspiring to be top bankers.

I find it even more amusing that those on the left appear now to be backing bankers making more and more money due to "taxation".

Go back 5 years, and these people were the scum of the earth according to the same people. Now, they are to be listened to and we should make life better for them. Fickle.

It's all relative, there is always a bigger enemy. Right now it's the brexit and bust band led by Reese Mogg.

Banker bashing is alive and well but that doesn’t mean that the loss of highly paid jobs wouldn’t hurt the economy. I’m also unsure of what technology you’re expecting to replace the bankers on huge salaries but I’m sure that you know what you’re talking about.

Much of this banking activity does little for the wider economy either. While individuals do pay higher levels of tax. Much of their capital and what they spend goes abroad. Fairer distribution of wealth isn't on their agenda.
