There weren't any TV licences 100 years ago.
    Who mentioned 100 years ago?

You admitted in court that you watch "TV " without a licence, so you were fined because you were guilty.
He/she did not admit to watching TV without a licence. They admitted to having a TV, which, in of itself, does not require a licence.
  • I would accept that, if I was a Capita employee ( and I am going to apply for a job with them ) I would take that as an admission that he had a TV only with no set top boxes and therefore he watched only live scheduled or BBC.
If it was a "dumb TV, as opposed to a Smart TV (ie. it was a TV without built in decoders), then it wouldn't have been possible to watch live TV on it, because analogue TV is no longer broadcast in the UK.
  • The balance of probability is that he was guilty
Criminal Court Cases aren't decided on balance of probability.
  • I would like the BBC to go subscription with a Sky type set top box.
Ate least there's one thing we agree on.

who are obviously fiddling their TV licence

Lets hope the BBC gets some electronic wizardry in operation very soon to trap them all
They're welcome to use their "electronic wizardry" at my address, because there's nothing to detect.

"most people " "many " are fiddling the TV licence. I do not say that EVERYONE is fiddling the licence fee. I ve made that quite clear.
Where is your evidence that it's either most or many?

It is just so biased to it's own defence & protection, it is unreal.
Not just to its own defence and protection either.

although I don't have a TV I don't think you're right (and a bit obsessed about JS and bias too), having seen the examples of other countries' broadcasting.
Is your argument that we shouldn't complain about the BBC being bias, because other countries' broadcasters are even more biased?
