Hi . I'm back from the technology ban
.
The past few days have been brilliant! I have thoroughly enjoyed not having the tv, kindles, etc on. I've read loads of my book in the moments of downtime during the day and in the evening, which has been pure bliss and a much better use of my time than scrolling through social media (which I don't particularly enjoy!). The DC haven't missed any of it either. The first day they asked a couple of times to watch tv, but since then nothing. They've played more nicely together and haven't moaned about being bored at all. Technology is back today, but the DC haven't asked yet to go on any/watch anything! The time spent on technology is definitely going to be more limited going forward, as they really don't need it and to be honest I don't really either. We've spent hours playing family board games this week, which has been really lovely quality time spent together.
Money wise I've sold quite a few bits on gumtree this week, which I've been able to pay off the CCs, as well as money received for DH doing some extra work. This means we've managed to pay off one of DHs course CCs. Work will begin now on reducing the next of DHs course CCs.
Will pop back on later to catch up on everyone's diaries. Hope you all have a good day.LBM Aug 2017.

Hi,
Cannot believe how long it's been since I've been on here. Money wasn't moving much in the final weeks prior to pay day, so wasn't much to report. Life has been crazy busy too, so the weeks have flown by.
Anywho, pay day has been and I've made the final payments for August, so the scores on the doors are...LBM Aug 2017.

The total CC debt is now £16,943.25 (£18,651.00 at end of July).
Wishing I'd paid the extra 25p on DHs CC3 as the non rounded figure is irritating! Really pleased with the debt payments this month. DHs CC1 has been paid off, so in total we only have 3 cards left to tackle.
Next on the hit list is DHs CC2. The 0% doesn't end until May 2020, so will clear it before then.
Need to sort through my budget for September and get better at meal planning again, as the grocery bill for August was too high.
Hope everyone's having a good summer. Will catch up on the diaries later tonight.

Thank you both
.
Today I've paid £120 to DHs CC2. Love being able to snowball the cards once an old Cc has been paid off. Hopefully the target card should be quite low by the end of the month.
I went to bed with a migraine last night and have woken up with a stinking coldso going to dose up on fruit & veg today to try and get rid of it quickly!
My non financial aims for September are to do more exercise. I started running more frequently last month and have almost finished the couch to 5k plan. Have signed up for the race at your pace 25mile challenge, so want to run this amount this month. Also going to try and do some press-ups or something, as my upper body strength is pretty pants! I can pick my kids up and carry them on my hip happily, but am unable to do a single pull up as I'm too heavy!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi all,
I'm finally back on here after a very stressful September & busy October. No real excuse for not coming on, I just couldn't deal with another thing on top of my stresses. Last month we had DC2s birthday, a small party and we also took our first overseas trip as a family. It was these 3 things along with health worries for my mum which caused the stress! So we did our first flight to France and the DC we're absolutely fine with it, DC2 was worried to start with on takeoff but soon settled ok. So I spent pretty much a month worrying like crazy for NOTHING! :rotfl:
Money wise I was slack throughout September at updating ynab, for which I've learnt my lesson. We overspent significantly, which we luckily could cover, but it meant that I was back to getting the business to bail us out  which is a rubbish habit to get in to.
We remortgaged last month and our small second part of the mortgage was causing so many issues in getting a rate for both parts that we paid off the majority of it. The £299 fees for remortgaging we actually paid (using the EF) rather than adding it to the mortgage like we usually would. I still need to phone up for a settlement figure for the small part of the mortgage, but it's currently just under £20 so I'm very happy with that.
So on to the debts...
September's debt roundup.
Joint debt at 30/09/19
CC1 - £0
CC2 - £0
CC3- £0
CC4 - £10,140
Total debt - £10,010.
(Total debt at 31/08/19 - £10,140).
DH Course CCs
CC1 - £0.00
CC2 - £3,036.00
CC3 - £2,766.32
Total debt - £5,802.32
Total at 31/08/19 - £ 6,803.25.
The total CC debt is now £15,812.32 (£16,943.25 at end of August).
The debts are coming down. Next month should see it below £15k which will be a big milestone. Going to spend some time looking at my CC spreadsheet and seeing where we will be at the end of the year. At the moment the last 0% deal we have ends in Oct 2020, so we will most probably have to balance transfer this next year, but I'm hoping the balance will be less than £4K by then.
Going to spend the next few days catching up on everyone's diaries. I need all the mse vibes to rub off on me to get me back on track!LBM Aug 2017.
