That's good news on the mortgage offer!

I hate those shouty days.  Mine would just rather play games than do schoolwork too. I admire you for homeschooling full time, it's definitely not for me, even if I wasn't working!

    Morning,

Most of my eBay items finished last night and I'm really happy that 6 out of 10 sold 😁.  I am waiting on payment for a few and need to post them, so haven't used any of the money to pay off the debts yet.  It has proven that I really should be trying to sell the bits I don't use. By the time fees are taken out and I've paid for postage I should have about £35 to pay off the debt.  Going to have a look through some more of my stuff this week and get a box together of things to sell. That way hopefully when I have a spare minute I can quickly take photos or start listing the items.  Feels good to get rid of the stuff!  Got my friend coming this week to collect the newborn cloth nappies too, so that'll be another bag of stuff gone from the house.  Still a tonne of stuff to go, but am feeling a lot more motivated about getting rid of the stuff now!

Today's plan is to attempt to tidy/declutter the house! Not sure how far I'll get, as whenever I seem to tackle one room the Dc play in another and as a result it looks like a bombs gone off when I return 😫!

Just transferred £10 to the debt. Hoping that if the new mortgage doesn't come out this month (which I don't think it will) then I may be able to get into the next thousand bracket on payday 🤞🏻.  Will feel amazing if I get under £20k again.

    Thanks Jwil.

All eBay sales have been paid, so I've transferred the money across from PayPal.  Didn't calculate the PayPal fees correctly, so haven't got quite as much to sling to the debt, but it's not much less.  Paid for the postage last night using the parcel 2 go website and DH is dropping it in today.  I've transferred the £30 sales proceeds to the debt.

Have sorted out more bits to sell, but haven't as yet listed anything.  DC4 is teething lots at the moment, so spent most of yesterday giving cuddles - it was a pretty lovely way to spend a day 🥰. (Obviously not nice that her teeth are hurting though).

    February 2021 debt roundup.

    Joint debt at 28/02/21
    Parents loan (CC4 & DH car) - £14,605 (31/01/21 - £14,860)
    Parents loan - £5,345.00 (31/01/21 - £5,750.00)

    Combined debt now sits at £19,950.00 (31/01/21 - £20,610.00).

    EF - £2,900

In February we paid £660 off the debt.

    2021 goal progress - paid £1,200 / £8,000.

Glad to be under £20k now. Feels like such a huge hill still to climb, but hopefully in the post covid/lockdown world finances will get better and we can start repaying more again.

Haven't been on here for ages again 😢. Life is really stressful and finances cause me lots of stress so at the moment I am kind of avoiding the forum.  Thankful to say that the debt isn't increasing and we are sticking to our budget, but it's all hard work at the moment.

The house sale still hasn't gone through. Thankfully the stamp duty holiday has been extended, but at the moment we have no idea when the house will complete, as the top of the chain are struggling to find a rental property which will accommodate pets (also they don't want to move! House sale is part of divorce settlement).

DHs work is also stressful due to Ir35. We don't fall within it per our investigations, but the client is scared of getting it wrong and wants to put everyone within the ir35 rules. If it happens then life will be even more complicated 😫😭.

Car is due a service this month (have managed to push it back to April). It's gonna be a biggy 😫.  Needs a new cam belt. Luckily as we don't appear to be moving this month I can use the extra mortgage budget (I over budget for new mortgage rate, then usually save/pay extra off CC) to put towards the bill, as haven't quite got enough in my car account.  Need to have a buffer in this account. Ideally need to save for a new car in the future, but at the moment there is no spare cash!

Feel a bit meh today, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and soon I will feel able to tackle the finances more. At the moment it just seems that there is no spare money and the battle to become debt free is such a long and tiring fight!  If only we had an inkling life would be changing so much at the start of last year. Most probably would have appreciated the simple things more and saved more!.

    Hope you're all ok.

Well done on the repayments!  It's all going the right way.

Hope the house move goes through soon, it's awful waiting.
