Today is the first day this month I've had a chance to sit down and work out the debt figures at the end of October. It's been a really busy start to the month, especially as DC3 had her birthday last week, so had birthday parties to organise & family get togethers. Glad to be having a more sedate weekend. Did my 2nd parkrun this morning, which was hard, but really enjoyable. Who would have thought it!
October's debt roundup.
Joint debt at 31/10/19
CC1 - £0
CC2 - £0
CC3- £0
CC4 - £9,880
Total debt - £9,880.
(Total debt at 30/09/19 - £10,010).
DH Course CCs
CC1 - £0.00
CC2 - £1,855.00
CC3 - £2,695.00
Total debt - £4,550.00
Total at 30/09/19 - £5,802.32.
The total CC debt is now £14,430.00 (£15,812.32 at end of September).
In the £14ks. Loving seeing the figure going down. Think once it's under £10k it'll feel more like the end is in sight. I was sorting through my computer the other day and came across my finance spreadsheets from 2010, was really surprised to see that we had £14.5k of debt then. We have had debts hanging over us for so long now, it really will be amazing when they're all gone.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Going to catch up on diaries with a coffee shortly.LBM Aug 2017.

Thanks Jwil.x
2 DDs came out today and I've made a payment to one of DHs course CCs. So a total of £317.42 has come off the debt today.
In a bit of a weird mood today, so hoping to have a run on the treadmill later to hopefully make me feel better. Currently sat upstairs catching up on diaries whilst DH entertains the DC!LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Received £191 cashback in my account today, so I've used that and a few extra pennies to pay £192.58 off DHs CCs. Today's payments take me to £14,000 paid off debts this year . Cannot wait for the year this money can go into savings or used for travelling, etc.
Hope everyone has a good day today.

Morning,
Today I've paid £120 off DHs Cc. It wasn't intentional! I pay via the Cc app which doesn't show previous payments, so forgot that I'd already set up the £120 payment a few days ago! Luckily DH has been paid for some extra work so it isn't a major problem. Just need to make sure I update ynab as soon as I make an online payment!
DH has changed his mind about getting a storage unit to temporarily put our stuff in so we can do diy and sort through it before bringing it back in the house. Need to make sure I work hard between now and Christmas to try and declutter it and make the house look nicer. Bit fed up about it, as had really high hopes that the house would finally be sorted. DC3 is sleeping appallingly at the moment. Really need to get her into better sleeping habits, but I'm so tired!

Life has been really manic the last few weeks. DH is changing work contracts in the new year, which means he'll be working away. Not really looking forward to it, but it is a good career move. Hopefully it'll only be 6 months, then he'll find something closer to home for a bit.
Run up to Christmas is stressful! I've bought most of the Christmas presents and am pleased to say that I have managed to control myself this year and not buy tonnes! Annoyingly the DC keep changing their minds about what they want, so hopefully they'll be happy on the day with what they've got. Think as life has been so busy recently that I've lost my love of debt busting. Fingers crossed it will return soon! Will catch up on diaries soon hopefully.LBM Aug 2017.

I have been really rubbish at updating this diary recently. In fact I've slipped in updating ynab too, which has showed as my grocery bill this month is absolutely horrendous. I need to get back in to the swing of meal planning and frittering less. Spoke to DH about it all and he still doesn't feel the same about our money situation. On the overspending his reaction was oh well it is Christmas, you're supposed to buy more . The last few months have been hard for me. Not really sure why exactly, but just have felt completely overwhelmed by everything. January sees DH starting a new contract, which will involve him being away for about 8 days at a time, then home for 5. Am dreading it! Feel like I have so much to do and either not enough time to do it or just find it hard to get started. I have lots of tasks on the go, but just feel that I'm doing a poor job on them all.
Anyway, money wise we have managed to pay off a lot of debt this year, which I am really pleased about. Unfortunately my plan of being debt free next year has already been scuppered, as DH is buying a new car (new to him, not brand new!), so the debt will increase in January(there really should be the crying emoji inserted here!).
Definitely need to be more organised in 2020 and finally get round to decluttering, as I think it will Improve my mood no end. Will be back with the debt round up shortly.LBM Aug 2017.

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas. Ours has been really lovely. We've spent lots of time both as a family and with my parents, siblings and cousins, which has been amazing. Family time really is so very special.
In December we took the DC to the panto, which they loved. DC1&2 are at that perfect age where they loved booing at the baddies and all the cheering. Their little faces were amazing to watch - the pure delight and laughter was absolutely priceless.
We had a home Ed visit to the food bank in early December, which was really interesting. It was a huge eye opener for both me and the DC, but also left me with a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling about how generous people are donating food. We donated lots of food and were able to use this along with food from the food bank to make up parcels for 2 couples. Will definitely continue donating food next year.
We had a short break away earlier in the month and managed to not spend lots whilst away. Was lovely knowing that the holiday had been paid for in advance and that we had spending money available. Planning on looking at holidays for next year at some point, although don't think it'll be the big overseas trip we'd hoped for.
Have signed up for Red January, where you pledge to do a bit of exercise every day for the whole of January to try and improve mental health. Am going to walk for about 30 mins or a couple of miles each day, which will hopefully help burn off some of the many chocolates I've eaten this month!LBM Aug 2017.

The total CC debt is now £10,975.00 (£12,650.00 at end of November).
Goals for 2020 will be to pay off CC4 and DHs CC3. With DHs new car finance in the new year there will be slightly less to throw at the debt, but hopefully it will still be achievable.
EF currently stands at £750. I would like to get this to £1,500 by the end of 2020.LBM Aug 2017.
