Today the £130 DD has come out for CC4. Is still very satisfying seeing the debt totals decreasing. Looking forward to when DH's course CC has gone and then CC4 can start reducing more rapidly. Feels like we've been in the £9ks on that card forever!LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Have checked the bank accounts and updated ynab. I've rounded down my bank account by £16 and sent that to DHs course CC.
The DC have got swimming lessons today, so we'll be venturing out later. Hoping to finish sorting my bedroom out today. Spent quite a while yesterday tidying, hoovering and sorting, but there's still a way to go to finish. Hoping to end up with a peaceful haven! Also we have our new mattress being delivered tomorrow, so I NEED to have it tidy.
In other news the DC have been putting food out for a hedgehog in the hedgehog house we got a few months ago. They were very excited that it had been eaten at last, until we managed to catch it on video - it's a rat .LBM Aug 2017.

The new mattress is being delivered today and I am ridiculously excited! Cannot wait to sleep on it tonight, just hope it is lots more comfy than the current mattress. Need to do a final bit of tidying before the delivery arrives, although think this may be a temporary move stuff job rather than a proper sort through of bits.
Money wise I've transferred £24 to DHs course cc, which rounds it down to £1,200. Have spent far too long this morning thinking about our amount of EF and whether I can increase it sooner, but realistically increasing the EF monthly budget would mean it's less likely we could pay off CC4 before the 0% ends this October.
Anyway best get on. Have a great day!LBM Aug 2017.

Just catching up properly on diaries. You are doing amazing! The cards will soon be gone.
Eek to the rat! I'm sure that's what we would get too. We did used to have a squirrel visit for the bird food but the cat and dogs scare everything away now.
Hope you're enjoying the new mattress. Ours isn't that old but we are both suffering badly with back ache and waking regularly. Nothing better than a a great nights sleep.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Morning,
The last couple of weeks have been hectic. DH has been home and is now working away again. His first week away was pretty successful for me. I managed to get loads of tidying up done - in fact it was easier to keep the house clean without DH! Think when there's two of us I ease up, whereas when it's just down to me I tend to get on and complete the jobs I need to do. This week so far hasn't been as successful! Since around the 5th Jan I've managed to take 6 bin bags full of stuff to the charity shop. I'm really pleased with the start to decluttering, although the house doesn't yet feel any lighter.
DH and I have decided to have the house valued at the end of Feb/beginning of March. This gives us a bit of time to finish off diy jobs and declutter more. I am desperate for the house to be less messy and take a lot less time to clean/put things away. Today I'm planning on popping to home bargains to get some storage baskets so I can make a start on sorting out the kitchen. I'm thinking of changing which cupboards things are stored in and ideally emptying a cupboard, so that we can make our kitchen middle island smaller and the kitchen a bit more spacious.
Finance wise I've been paying off odd amounts to DHs course CC. Balance is now at £900. Should get this to £500 by end of the month and then it'll be gone in Feb. Looking forward to starting to tackle the big CC next month.
In other non money news DH and I are expecting DC4! Was a bit of a shock for us both, but having had a scan I've finally got my head around it and am now very excited. This news is another reason why we desperately need to declutter the house!
Hopefully I'll be a bit organised soon and find time to read all the diaries I subscribe to and update on here.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Thank you both
.
Have had a lovely weekend. Had a friend and her DC round Saturday and then at another friends birthday party yesterday. Saturday especially was just what I needed. Had a bit of a panic before the friend came over, as I didn't have enough time to clear all the clutter which had accumulated in the dining room, but my friend was lovely about it and told me I honestly didn't need to bother tidying loads before they came over as they are here to see me & the DC not the house! Made me feel loads better.
This weekend I've managed to top up the EF by £246 which takes the balance to £1,000. Really pleased this is now at this amount. Now I can slowly start working towards my £2,500 target, although think this will take quite a while!
DHs course CC had £75 paid to it yesterday, so the balance is now £825. DH should be getting paid soon for some additional work, so just need to work out whether to pay it off this CC or keep some back for work we may want to do on the house. Will have to have a think about it. I think I also need to revisit my CC spreadsheet to see how realistic it is that I can clear the big CC by October.
This month is the first month DH has been working away and the fuel budget has had to rise significantly. I need to review how much was actually spent, so that I can budget more effectively in Feb. Definitely need to tighten up the budget for the next 6 months whilst DH is working away. Was reading TOPMs diary the other day and she was talking about how she meal plans. It seems ridiculous really, but having read it I realised how even when I meal plan I still buy too many extras (like store cupboard bits not needed for that week). This week I have meal planned more effectively and managed to spend less than £40. I really need to keep this up. The challenge in Feb is to get the food budget in at around £300. I think an inventory of my freezer will be a good idea, as there must be loads of food to use up.
Today my car is having 4 new tyres . Always relieved on days like today that I have a car savings account. Just hope there's enough in there by March to cover my mot & service. Think I'll phone up the garage next month for a rough price.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and have a good Monday.LBM Aug 2017.
