Just read your whole diary and just want to say every time you think .... I still have x y or z to go before debt free etc etc etc take a good long look and think what you have paid of so far and then get a cup of your favourite drink sit down and dream what next year is going to be like if you have that kind of money not paying debts and what you will be able to do wit it.
What’s done is done and you have made amazing payments so let it go and focus on ...
Who has done the amazing pay offs so far
Why you won’t get in debt again
How you will feel when you are finally free
What differences will being debt free really mean
Where will those adventures take you
Enjoy the ride :-)Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

Thank you for this. I find it very easy to lose sight of the bigger picture about how far we've come with the debt busting. Thank you for reminding me of the journey so far and how life will be post debt.

Today I have paid £60 off CC3.
After reading Mint1955's post I've revisited my credit card spreadsheet today and updated it. The spreadsheet includes both our personal debt and business debt. It really is amazing how far we've come. The projections for the debt based on current repayment rates are really encouraging.. For both personal and business debts we should be debt free by the end of 2020. The aim now is to beat this.

Evening,
Hope everyone's had a good weekend. DH has been off work this weekend, so it's been really lovely spending time together at home without having to dash off to the DCs groups.
Today I've paid £35 to CC3. Luckily DH has done some extra hours this month, so we're able to pay a bit extra off the CC.
I must admit I'm still feeling incredibly upbeat about the debt situation (hopefully this feeling will last a while, although in the past the debt journey has definitely been an emotional roller coaster). Yes the debt is high, but it's coming down. I am really excited about like after debt! I've been reading a few diaries which mention retirement, investments and kids savings, and I can't wait to get stuck in to saving for the kids future and our future. It will be a brilliant challenge once debt free to build up the savings (ours and the DCs) and hopefully have a decent nest egg for later life.LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Child benefit hit the account yesterday and so far the budget is doing well (long may it continue). I've paid £65 to CC3 today, which rounds the balance down very nicely.
DH is going to increase his overpayment to the small variable rate mortgage by an extra £10, so will be £30 a month from March. It's not huge sums, but it's nice to be paying some capital off each month and not just interest! It's still going to take a while to clear this at the current rate, but hopefully when DF we can prioritise this.
Our financial advisor came over yesterday to discuss our pensions. I'm really pleased we set up a new pension last year and it's ticking along nicely, but I will definitely need to add more money in to it each year. Hoping that next year I can up the amount we pay in to it a bit and then when DF I can make up for some of the lack of payments made in the 8 years I didn't have any pension payments being made.
Hoping the weather stays dry today, so that we can go for a long walk. Hope everyone has a good day.

Evening,
It's been an up and down day today. The down part being that my nanny passed away this morning. She'd been in hospital for a few weeks, so we knew it was coming, but it's still really upsetting. Poor DC1 has taken the news badly and has been sobbing on and off during the day
. There's been lots of hard questions to answer, like where exactly is heaven and I imagine there will be a few more tomorrow.
I've spent longer than I most probably should have today reading another debt free wannabe diary, it's quite a long one and I've read about 30 pages so far! Thanks to reading the diary and a mention of making scones, me & DC3 made a batch of fruit scones today (my first ever attempt at making them). They were seriously yummy. Unfortunately I only managed to make 5 not the 8 it said it'd make and much to DHs disappointment we ate them all at lunchtime so he couldn't try one! Will definitely make them again.
Money wise I've rounded down my bank account sending £6 to CC3 and 90p to debt savings. Popped to the shops today and spent more in Aldi than I should have done, which I'm annoyed at myself for doing. I really shouldn't go when either hungry or upset, as I end up buying lots of rubbish (sweets and chocolate). I really need to reduce the amount of snacks I'm having, as I've got to attempt to fit into a pair of black trousers for the funeral when it's arranged and I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to do them up
Hope everyone's had a good day.
