There's also an abundance of regular buses. When i go to edinburgh i often get a good price on the premier inn at Haymarket which is really central and I'm sure the last time was £50 for a double room.
Hope you manage to find a nice tester break!
Thanks for this info Homegrown. Just waiting to find out when DH is working in the next month or two and we can hopefully decide where/when to go. Think Edinburgh would definitely be an easy choice due to the amount of things to do once in the city.LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Have rounded down the bank account this morning and sent £6 to CC3.
The weather here looks miserable so far today, so think we'll be at home for the day. Have got a few jobs I need to do today round the home, so hopefully can get that done and a few extra. I blitzed the kitchen the other day and have made a real effort the last few days to make sure i keep on top of it. It's really lovely coming down in the morning to a tidy and sparkling clean kitchen. Next area to blitz is the landing/stairs, as stuff just seems to accumulate here. Definitely need to start trying to get my Dc into the habit of tidying, as it is a skill that will help them for life! My DH is not a naturally tidy person - he just doesn't seem bothered by clutter/mess and I really don't want the DC to have this mindset.LBM Aug 2017.

Morning ,
I haven't been on here much recently. Found I was getting really frustrated that I didn't have spare cash to pad and getting a bit too obsessed with the debt payments/reading the mse debt forum so I took a step back for a bit. Money has been ticking along and no unexpected bills which is good.
The other day I paid £14 to CC3 and today I've paid £20. Had an email from our gas/electric supplier today saying they're reducing our dd next month by £24 so that was a nice surprise.
DH is doing the odd few hours extra, so hopefully next month we'll be able to pay a bit more off the Cc than usual.
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning,
Have checked the bank and rounded down my account. Have sent £6 to CC3 and 71p to debt savings. Have organised a balance transfer for one of DHs course CCs. Unfortunately the credit limit wasn't high enough to transfer all of it, but I'm transferring just under half to a 28 month 0% deal. Going to spend part of today trying to swap the remaining part to a better 0% deal, as with brexit looming I'd like the security of knowing we have 0% deals for at least 12 months.
Yesterday the DC went to their first British sign language class. It was fascinating. The Dc really enjoyed learning how to sign the alphabet and really concentrated hard for the full hour. Today we will be practicing the alphabet signs by playing alphabet bingo. It's amazing that I still remember how to do the alphabet signs from learning in high school over 20 years ago . (That makes me feel really old that I left high school 20 years ago!!).
Hoping to get a fair bit done today. The house needs a good blitz again and the Dc have work they need to complete, so we'll be kept busy today.

Morning, I wish schools taught BSL now, it would make things much easier for so many people.
Have a lovely day

I think it should be taught too. I did do a short course on it a long time ago, it was really interesting.
well done on the payments :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Hi,
The kids have been teaching DH how to sign the alphabet this morning. They are still really keen, which is really lovely. I think BSL should definitely be taught in schools. The teacher was telling us how hard and isolating it can be for deaf people. They said that if they were out and needed help and a shop assistant wrote down a question to try and help them, the likelihood is that they wouldn't be able to understand it, as although they can read, the way they process language during signing is different. Eg. They sign 'name my what' instead of 'what's your name?'. Not sure that made any sense, but it did in my head!!
Today I've paid £4 to CC3. On the countdown to pay day next week.
Have managed to balance transfer all of DHs course CC, so the 0% deals now don't expire until March, July and Sept 2020. It's frustrating having more fees added to the account earlier than needed (0% expired in May), but is nice having the peace of mind that they are on 0% deals as there was always the worry that a 0% deal might not be available after brexit. Hoping to have them cleared before the 0%s run out.LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Have had a hectic few days, so haven't been on here much. Have made pads over the last few days, including today amounting to £47 to CC3. Payday tomorrow so will be able to pay some more off CC3 then and do my month end totals. January has gone quickly in one sense and yet financially seems to have dragged on forever!!
I've been doing a lot more exercise recently (6 out of the last 7 days I've managed about 45 mins exercise a day - either walking on the treadmill or a workout) and it's really helped to improve my mood. Hoping to keep up the motivation to continue doing it, as I would love to get fitter and tone up, as well as continue to see my mood increase. It's amazing how a bit of 'me' time can help in a hectic day.
Hope everyone has a good day.
