I've just looked through the regs board and when a bit of clean-up is done it will contain:
a) 6 "index" threads
- Daily
- Weekly (not maintained)
- Mags
- C2W
- RC/Gleam
- Once Only
b) 5 Ongoing Daily Comps
- badger the button
- moneycroc
- playandwin
- keno
- surveyfriends
c) 1 Ongoing "almost daily" Comp (Goodreads)
d) 21 Ongoing Weekly Comps
e) 38 Once Only Comps (newsletter signups etc)
f) 8 Daily Lotteries (Once Only Comps that need checking daily)
g) 1 Weekly Lottery (a Once Only Comp that needs checking weekly)

I just want you to all to know that I've had an incredibly busy week and another coming up, although I'm reading threads and Board Guiding it might take a few days to think this through. After next week I'm all yours
Blulu - I know exactly where you're coming from, we discussed it for weeks last time and still didn't get it perfect, but things can and will be changed if needed
One Eye - I'll have look at the threads thank youif I tidy them up tomorrow we can see how things look
to anyone confused about why comps are on the regs board but not on main, or moved to regs, that's because comps shouldn't have 2 threads, they are either on main or regs not both, I don't actively search them out to move them but if I get a pm pointing out that under current 'rules' such and such a comp should be on regs then I move it (happens very rarely)
a poll is a good idea and when we've discussed it a bit I'll start one
to anyone who has 2 mse usernames it's best to only comment with one of them on a discussion thread, to post your opinion with both usernames is like having 2 votes when everyone else only has one, thank youI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Posting them with an end date E: 31/13?Glad, to be honest, I am not thrilled at the thought of you having a life outside of MSE. I guess we'll reluctantly allow it, but please don't make a habit of it!
Or to be a bit more genuine, thanks - lots

Any other suggestions? As it's a forum rule about the merging then the simplest thing would be to let whoever necessary know that, to make the section easier to use, the competition forum would like not to have posts from different sections within competitions time merged with each other.
This would would be the simplest thing to do and nothing else would then need to be changed, no vote required as the only difference to now would be if someone posts an ongoing competition on main it would stay there to whatever has been used as an end-date.0 -

I think this would be confusing as some regular competitions would be on the main board and some on the regular board.
Bit confused about the merging rule too. What if a thread was in the wrong place? Like a new comper posting on the main board a "Hello Thread" - wouldn't we want that merged with the ongoing introduce yourself thread?Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -

Regular competitions should all have posts on main and not merging would allow that to happen "officially" (there are already many competitions that are on both) , the regulars section is almost just a supplementary for those that choose to use it as there are very few posts that should only be in there.
The non-merging would only apply to actual competition posts.
To ensure maximum visibility for the majority and if necessary to avoid confusion for the minority that use the regulars the easiest thing would probably be to close the section.0 -
Posting on the main board with an end date of E: 31/12^^^ This ^^^ Simple.
Un-necessary merging regular comps from the main board to regs should prevent this situation again.
Back in the big debate it was agreed all comps, (Few exceptions) needed to be on main....
Weeklies, (Inc. FB once a week etc,) posted on main weekly with new end date. Plenty of folk willing to do this from their own bookmarks if a comp gets overlooked in my experience.
Daily entry on main with overall end date, then linked into daily folder to help end-daters. Again - have noticed other MSEers kindly linking if OP has overlooked it.
Monthly - posted each month on main. This one has been widely accepted now - why not others?
Enter once - on main, then linked to thread in regs.
Let's just do it right, peoplesx

Imo, this seems to be by far the most sensible course of action and would be the fairest and most inclusive way to run the board.0 -
Having an on-going thread on the main board which gets bumped when new regular comps are postedI wouldn't mind if you just want the"MAG DAILY" comps on the Regulars board.0

Posting them with an end date E: 31/13?Update:
Guys, I've been nattering with Glad about this, and we both feel it makes sense to back-burner it until after the Advents. That doesn't mean, "Forget all about it."
It's going to be a big deal to try to gather as many opinions as possible and choose the best way forward. If we then decide to change things, it probably makes sense not to contend with new stuff, while coping with the advents.
So can we agree to leave this till comping gets back to 'normal' in the new year, when we can tackle it properly with Glad's help and input?
