I believe that's OK and most, but not all, on here seem to agree.

The t'c & c's for the cashback were a bit ambiguous.
"Credit your account with a total of at least £1,000 within the 31 days following the completion of the switch and a further £1,000 in total in the following 31 days".

So does the 2nd deposit need to be
    1. within 31 days of the end of the 1st 31 days
    2. within 31 days of the initial deposit of £1000

i.e. what is being referred to in "following", is it the initial 31 days or the initial credit deposit?

Your second deposit meets 1. but not 2.

Do you know many people that get a salary paid twice a month?

I don't believe it's ambiguous. After the switch, you get two consecutive 31 day windows. These mimic the periods you'd get your salary paid in. Some people don't have £1000 lying about, to just pay in, so their salary paid hits that requirement.

If you pay it in a few days after the switch, then pay the next lot in 31 days after that, you hit both of your scenarios anyway.

As I commented before, if one followed route 2 above you could possibly have missed the arguably correct interpretation.

However if you now credited a further £1k within the 2nd 31 day period you'd cover both interpretations.. and would have nowt to worry about..:)

Just read the email received from Yorkshire bank regarding the criteria for receiving the £250. To me some posters are just complicating things.

    Possibly because some lack clarity.
  • Hi guys!
I'm looking for a good switch deal and have stumbled across this one. Is it doable online or do I have to go to the Birmingham branch to do it please?

Your post title seems to be a statement rather than a question, so you've verified the offer is still on?

If it is, and if the T&Cs remain the same as those linked in post #2, then condition 2 of said T&Cs would seem to answer your question?
  • I've got to say that using the Yorkshire Bank internet banking is the biggest pain in the bum I've ever had. Just setting up payments is clunky, long winded, complicated and difficult. You can't send a payment over £500 or £1000 in a day without a 'token'. What a pile of crap!

Although I have a token I can easily transfer £1,000 without this. It may be because I have transferred money to the beneficiary before.

Also what I find completely stupid is if you want to stop paper statements this can only be done by using their app.
