Thanks Watty. Am poised to start calling shortly. I don’t particularly want to speak to anyone, I just want my results!
Have to do some heat pump emails today.
And Stinky needs some attention. He seems to be quite anxious (lots of lip licking, randomly getting up and barking/growling/panting with hackles up wanting to go out but then heading straight back in) and is also living up to his name - I suspect anal glands as there has been some licking, so need to up his F&V intake and see whether that resolves it (need to up my F&V intake too TBH!). He’s had less exercise recently as I’ve not been feeling up to it, and I’ve also been staying upstairs till later (after letting him out, and then after breakfast). He needs to get used to being bored on his own, but the lack of exercise may be an issue - I haven’t found an alternative dog walker yet. He’ll be much happier when the weather improves and we can be outside more.ETA - called bookings who are trying to get hold of secretary. Have also emailed to ask for results/feedback to be emailed.

No response from the hospital, which frankly is just poor. At this rate they'll be getting another complaint sent their way.
I think both the heat pump quotes are going to come in at around the same price once I get them to give me comparable breakdowns. Neither of them is giving me exactly what I want at the moment, but I may be able to resolve that on the second one when they do the survey.
I think I'm going to find all this building work etc very, very annoying.

No response?! - that's dire - insert favorite swear word here - lol

I'm trying to summon up the enthusiam to call back, but actually want to get on with work.
Cold this morning, overslept a bit (even the cats did - new curtains in the hall obviously help cut out some light), and it was damp first thing. Dropped off to sleep between first outing and breakfast. Headache threatened to come back, so took things slowly, then went over to my mum's took her for a walk, rescued a blow-away greenhouse from a neighbour's hedge (been there for weeks and they wanted it gone) which is now in my car, as I might be able to turn it into a cucumber house. Picked up two bags of muntjac, which is now waiting to be processed. I've also managed to put Stinky's BNS in the IP (he's out of lick mats, so this was urgent!).
No sign of drain man who was supposed to come today…
Hoping for sunshine over the weekend and getting the garage cleared and some gardening done!

Drain man came today - electrician won't be here until next week, so the pump is on an extension lead and the lid of the second chamber is slightly open (but weighted down) so hoping nothing falls in. It'll be a bit whiffy until the electrician can sort it out. I'm also not convinced that the whole extension lead set up is entirely safe as it doesn't look like it will be particularly waterproof if we get rain.
Yesterday evening was spent making up lick mats and cutting up and freezing two muntjac carcasses for pet food.
Today we've managed a couple of short walks and started sorting out the utility room in an attempt to a. make room for stuff from the garage and b. work out how it can be reconfigured. Lots of pet laundry as there is cheap/free electricity, DW on (and I think the DW might be behaving a bit better, although I need to keep an eye on it), oven cleaned and running the self-clean programme. I even took glass off the door - although it would make more sense for the inner glass to be removable for cleaning than the outer. At least I know now.
Measuring the utility room has confused me, as where the door will end up means that there won't be enough depth for a sink unit. But the floor plan from the previous sale clearly shows the door where we're planning on putting it, and a sink unit under the window. So I'm confused. I hope the builders can work it out! The room is HUGE, so we must be able to make it more useful.
I'm hoping to get enough space made in the utility room today to make tomorrow's garage emptying a lot more productive. The bin is empty too. The workshop may need a bit more sorting out to make the space more useable, but hopefully it won't be too painful, and I can also get some seeds sown.

Very annoying about the hospital appointment. It's so vexing when that happens. Hope you manage to get hold of your test results at some point, and they're easily sort-outable.

I’m hoping that Wednesday morning’s call organised by the secretary (who I have known longer than the consultant as she worked for his predecessor) actually happens!
Lovely sunny day, so I need to get up (have already let the animals out, fed them, done their washing up, and put yet another load of laundry on), have a shower, get dressed, and get on with clearing out the garage. Opening windows and getting some air into the house might be nice too!

Sounds like a spring cleaning day! 😃 Ours has been rather too blustery with plenty of showers 😬 I'm out in the garden now- well, hiding in the greenhouse, although given the wind I'm not sure that's wise!

Workshop is clean and tidy and in theory usable. There's space for one of the chest freezers in there (I'm hoping the little one will defrost tonight and I can shift it into the utility room and refill it tomorrow… my mum will have to take some stuff home with her (luckily she's been emptying her small freezer as she wants to defrost it but that will have to wait!).

Negative electricity from 11.30pm yesterday until 4pm today so have washed and dried pretty much everything we could (there are still a few things like bedcovers for another day, but nothing important!). Also roasted squash and made soup. Run the DW (which was relatively well-behaved), kept the water hot and battery topped up via solar, and heated the house using electricity.
I've also sown tomatoes (far too many, but fewer than normal!), aubergines (3 kinds), peppers (2 kinds), broad beans (2 kinds), courgettes (4 kinds), and mangetout (2 kinds). I need to get more gravel trays out of the shed so I can sow squash (and cucumbers when they arrrive). Propagator lids are on, mostly to keep cats out, and the heated propagator has the tomatoes in it. I need to get on with clearing out the greenhouse ready to move things in there soon.
We had a reasonable walk this morning, but not particularly long (my mum isn't up to it), so I'm about to take Stinky out again for another walk before coming back to clear up and make a start on cooking tonight's muntjac (for people, animals will have theirs raw as usual). My bed will also need making, but the mattress cover and electric blanket top layer are still drying.
