I've never sewn Night Scented Stock in seed trays, just directly into pots though up here it would be too early for outdoor sewing. Also checking if we are talking about the same thing @Watty1? As far as I know, Stocks and Night Scented Stocks are related but different plants. I've never grown Stocks from seed but have sometimes got the plug plants from a garden centre.

I’ve done both pot sown and straight in the ground with NSS. Generally the straight in the ground grow better if they get past the vulnerable to slugs stage, which seems to be very weather dependent. I think I am going to hedge my bets this year and do both … #flippingdeterminedtohavescentofNSSthisyear! 😉

In that case, I'll sprinkle them in the pots I want them to grow in, which currently have bulbs in them, and hopefully the'll survive. It beats not sowing them, which is what I did last year!

I've washed my thick down coat, which is now in the TD, and given the DW a thorough clean (including taking off and scrubbing the seals) and it is now attempting to do a fast hot wash with citric acid in it - so far it has taken about an hour to do 10 mins of the programme, so I'm not holding out much hope. It usually struggles with a hot wash, but is a bit stinky, so I'm trying. Kettle, two showerheads, and coffee machine have been descaled, and the coffee machine cleaned as well … just about to risk a coffee :)

Stinky has been walked (not far enough apparently), and when I've had my coffee I'm going to give all three animals some lunch and whiz out to the petrol station for a few more veggies so I can get the cooking properly organised. It looks like tomorrow will have good electricity pricing too, so some cooking may be delayed. Or I might give the oven a spa day as well as the DW :)

There's a book I want to finish today, and a new one has arrived which I'm keen to read, so hopefully that will be an incentive to get on with it.

It's bin week (rather than recycling) this week, so I could do with going through some of the stuff in the garage and seeing what I can bin. Gardening may need to wait until next weekend, although an hour of weeding would be nice if it ends up being warm and dry enough.

Bought veg. Haven't done anything with it.

Have bleached (with septic-tank safe bleach) loos and shower wastes. Bits of shower waste are soaking in WUP liquid and bleach. Vast amounts of hair and gunk have been retrieved from shower wastes. DW is STILL working it's way through a cycle that should have finished a couple of hours ago. But at least it's still going. And will hopefully be clean by the end of it.

Thick coat was in the TD for ages and I think is fully dry and re-fluffed. There's a small load of clothes in which I think should be done by now so need to go on the airer.

Leeks have been lifted, and a white bryony root (mostly) removed from the asparagus bed but it's too cold and windy out there to do more. As soon as I've put the laundry on the airer I'll take Stinky out again, and then come home and light the fire and finish my book.

Builders called and are starting next Tuesday (they did offer this Wednesday) so I’ll be spending the weekend trying to get the garage emptied. I probably also need to look at my work calendar and see whether I can take next Tuesday off. I can see that the next few months are going to be totally exhausting. There will be noise, mess, moving stuff, and decisions. But hopefully it will then all be over (bar the decorating). I’ll have to start thinking about kitchen designs too.

Curtains are on their way too. Fingers crossed that they work after all this hassle.

Am baking and listing things on FBMP. This is not helping me get work done…

And have finally taken apart a huge daylight desk lamp that has been dead for a couple of years so that the electrical bit is small enough to go in the electrical waste collection and the non-electrical bits are in the bin.

Cats are playing with the random screws that were in the box with curtain pole brackets (not bothering to include the screws with them).

Also removed some A&C packaging from the garage so I can use the wool in the veg plot and and the cardboard to the cardboard stash in the shed.

One more FBMP listing and then I'd better go and show my face at work!

Dunhelm curtains have arrived AND THEY FIT (was worried I'd measured wrong… they could have been a bit longer, but I'm happy with them as they are). Curtain pole is decidely rickety though, so I think it'll need replacing before next winter.

Various chairs from the garage relocated to the summerhouse before/after dog walks. And some baking done (boring banana oat things, and cornish fairings which are much nicer). Also tidied the kitchen freezer and relocated some things from the outside freezer to fill the space. I might have to invite people over to eat some of the vast amounts of venison in the freezer - but clearly Easter weekend isn't a good option as people will be busy.

Several things listed on FBMP but I'm not holding out much hope given I'm only going to leave them up for a few days.
