Having started the day with pilates and a walk, I'm now working my way through a vast salad which includes: little gem, white chicory, white cabbage, red cabbage, fennel, celery, tomato, radishes, carrot, cucumber, olives, chilli, sauerkraut (pineapple & cauliflower), sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds - I meant to add black beans and parsley but forgot. I'm having it with some dark rye bread and goat's cheese that needs eating.
I had a pear, almonds, and prunes earlier with coffee - just after my walk. I need to try to push this back to midday to make my fasting window longer.3 -
Thats 22 plants in one day! Fair dos!! 👏👏😊🤩

I've just had a couple of teaspoons of sprout kimchi (not a fan, but I thought I'd try it and now need to eat it), a glass of water kefir, and some smoked paprika yellow peas. Not sure what else I'll be having but I've just prepped 5 pots of yogurt and fruit (greek yogurt, milk kefir, flaxseeds, ground flaxseeds, oats, naked barley flakes, black barley flakes, camellina seeds, chia seeds, coconut, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, and frozen strawberries).
Whatever else I'm having needs to include pulses, as I'm short on those. But this is getting close to what I used to eat when I did the Zoe programme, and was fitter and more energised than at any other time. I carried on eating that way until I moved here and it got difficult while the house was in chaos. While the kitchen is still hopeless, most of the rest of the house is much better, so I'm going to try to get back on track with food.
Oh... and the DW worked on an eco cycle. Which is a relief!4 -
Merchant gourmet thai green curry sachet heated up with some cold chicken thrown in. I have courgette curry defrosting for tomorrow. And there's some soup as well.4

Miserable day. Got up when the WM kicked in (I can feel the vibration/hear it but it doesn't normally wake me up) and remembered that the solar app had been tempermental last night and claiming to be offline, but I hadn't done anything about it. Checked and it was still offline when it should have been charging. So at 3.30am I rebooted the inverter and it started charging (30 minutes less that I wanted, which is a pity given how overcast it is today!). But washing has been done.
Got up later and let the dog and cats out (cats unimpressed by the weather) then back to bed until it was time for their breakfast. Sardines today as I forgot on Sunday, so they're happy. Back to bed with coffee (having hung the washing on the airer), and then reluctantly hauled myself out to do Pilates. Dressed, took the dog out - put out recycling, brought in garden waste bins (which were on their sides), went to poo bin to deposit poo, and had a short walk. Stinky says walk was too short but I disagree. He's dry now, and cats are complaining about the weather.
I did a BWFO order yesterday, and a Hodmedod's order today, so should be stocked up on pulses, spices, and grains soon.
And galvanised by the chat on @Cheery_Daff's thread I have finally sent paperwork over to one of the recommended heat pump people. I'll see whether he's willing to do the design work for me or not. If not, I'll ask my neighbours for the details of the people they used.
Need to pick up worm/flea stuff from the vet, but that can wait till tomorrow. Have a telephone hospital appointment at some point today (I have a time, but they never actually call at that time - in the past it's been up to 4 hours EARLY!) and need to do some work.
Have soup and courgette curry out of the freezer, and fruit/yogurt stuff made up, and no bad food in the house. But I'm still not brave enough to weigh myself yet!

As the septic tank pump was playing up again yesterday and work finished late I ended up just having kombucha, smoked paprika yellow peas, a couple of spoons of sprout kimchi (can't recommend it really), and the yogurt/fruit/seeds followed by medjool dates and 100% dark chocolate.
Sent some more stuff over to the heat pump guy. Need to start measuring radiators and send those details over. Oil top-up is due by Friday… no communication yet, and the tank is getting close to empty (this is why I want a heat pump!). I'll probably light a fire later today as it's cold enough to need the boost.
Cats were up early and then outraged by the weather. Unlike Stinky who loves the frost and cold and was delighted by it and proceeded to race around like a lunatic. I'm waiting for it to get a bit warmer before we go out…
I've managed to message the builder, and he'll come over one morning next week to look at the annoying leaky trickle vent and also go through everything that needs doing, who it needs doing by, and in what order. I'm not looking forward to it, but need to get on with it.
Handyman/gardener is here and currently re-fixing the dog barrier to the wall as the hollow wall fixings weren't strong enough, so he's going to fix wood to the wall and then the barrier to the wood. Once that's done, he'll start digging the new flowerbeds (just lifting turf and turning it over at this stage) round the patio so I can start planning the planting.
So a bit of washing up to do, a bedcover to soak (the one I washed has a coffee stain on it so will need redoing), and hopefully enough sunshine today to wash the cleaning cloths on a hygiene wash later. As well as getting some work done.

I'm glad Stinky is happy even if no-one else is! 😉
I admire your dedication to the cause, consuming sprout kimchi …. <shudder> 🤣KK

I love kimchi normally (although not keen on the beetroot one either), and try to have some daily (see also sauerkraut, yogurt, kefir). I used to try to vary the brands I used, but have got into a bit of a rut with shopping. I need to get myself up to the farm shop at some point as they have very good (but expensive!) fermented foods. I might also get a veg box at some point.
Stinky has had an hour's walk in the cold and sunshine. Battery is almost charged, so the cleaning cloths (which I soaked in soda crystals before I went out) are in the machine, and the coffee stained bit of the bedcover is soaking in laundry bleach ready for it's turn in the machine. Stripey cat is out, and not-Fatty is trying to sit on me watched by Stinky from his bed. Not-Fatty doesn't do laps, she likes you to lie down so she can lie on your torso with her head on your shoulder. And she's heavy.
Dog barrier is back up, and about 25% of the digging is done. I might have to get on and do some work at some point…

Soup for lunch - from memory it's peppers, onions, aubergine, courgette, garlic and herbs. Added feta and cannellini beans, and had dark rye bread with houmus and sauerkraut with it. I had apple and peanut butter with my coffee earlier, and there's a kiwi fruit that needs eating later.
Looks like the beds will have been dug by the end of the day, so I could do with a couple of good frosts (and maybe some snow!) to break up the upside-down turf. Then I can add bone meal and whatever useful stuff we can find in the compost bins/(not very) hot bin/leaf mould bin and cover it with cardboard and woodchip. I expect it will then become a cat loo/dog playground, so may well need landscaping fabric pinned over it for a couple of months. But once I have the shape and space I can start planning the planting.
Sun is still shining, battery is full, water is hot, solar is exporting. One hot wash has been done, and the bedcover is in on a long 40C wash as long cool washes are (theoretically) better at dealing with stains. Cleaning cloths are on the airer. Cats are being fussy about food. Dog isn't being fussy about food so may end up eating the cat food later. And I'm about to set the DW off as well. If I didn't feel that I ought to be doing some work I'd descale the kettle and coffee machine, but I think I should make a start on the stuff that has deadlines!
