Won't be long before you have one with an annoying tyre sensor then! They've been around for a while.

I got the mowing done yesterday and my mum sorted out the pots on the patio (took the dead stuff out and did some dead-heading - I need to shove some more things in to fill the gaps. The garden looks a lot better for a tidy. I've done a bit of dead-heading, but not much - I'm hoping to do a little every day as long as it's not raining. It's the kind of gardening I like!

Also stewed lots of apples (still lots to go), and have harvested beetroot, carrots, courgettes, and beans. Courgettes and beetroot are slowing down. Beans still going. All prepped and ready to cook tomorrow.

Lettuce and radishes sown this evening in the planters by the kitchen, so hopefully they will germinate. Irrigation is still on for the veg plot and borders, so must remember to turn it off. And I still haven't come up with a plan for the next round of sowing in the veg plot which I need to get done this weekend.

Funnily enough my tyre light came on this week too.  They have been pumped up & the light is still on. Bah.

You need to reset first & then see if it comes back on.

Yep - you need to reset it, and I think drive for 20 minutes to recalibrate.

Busy weekend. My mum had more surgery on Friday, so that took most of the day - although I did nip out shopping once she was checked in and managed to find some replacement walking sandals (not the same as the current ones, I've found a stockist for them, and have asked to be notified when back in stock, but these will do for the remainder of the year) and a white waterproof jacket with partial fleece lining (I live in a village with no street lighting, so wearing light-coloured clothing when walking on the roads at night is sensible), restocked the first aid box (except tape, as the only had the stuff I'm allergic to) and some violas and cyclamen before she called to say she was out. The rest of Friday was taken up with getting her discharged, getting her home, and dealing with her being in pain and a bit upset about it.

Saturday we took the dressing off, with the help of a family friend who is a retired medic (it was nice to have a grown-up there, and someone who could honestly say the results looked good, as they don't to anyone non-medical at this point!), and most of the day was taken up with that and then delivering meals/hot water bottles/cooled boiled water etc. along with making a start on washing dog bedding (the big bed breaks down into 5 cushions and a cover, and takes 3 loads) as there was lots of solar and cheap power via agile. Also had another muntjac delivered, so that had to be cut up and portioned and frozen while the dog and one cat looked on.

Today has been cooking - healthy snacks for me so I stop eating rubbish/stuff I'm buying for my mum; lots of BNS in the IP for the dog - kongs and lick mats are filled and the rest will go in the freezer; steamed beans to go with a bought quiche for lunch. Also more washing and drying of dog beds and attempts to make the most of agile pricing by discharging the battery and filling it/using electricity during negative pricing, but the sun has also been shining, so I've only imported about 8kWh (mind you, it's normally around 1kWh/day at the moment) which will earn me about 8p. No negative pricing tomorrow, just the 'free' hour 2-3, so I'll try to make sure there's battery capacity and charge up/do a cleaning cycle in the WM/descale the kettle/put the towel rails on/anything else that needs doing then.

Dianthus that were bought months ago, and Friday's violas and cyclamen have all been shoved in pots or the ground. Masses of veg peelings have made it into the hot bin, which is hotting up, and the dog has been brushed. I really need to go and pick raspberries at some point, but don't have the energy right now.

There's still masses to do in the veg plot including weeding some 'empty' beds so I can sow new crops in them.

    Booked the MOT/service.

Dog still has his foot in vet wrap as the toe will be exposed until the nail grows back. Dog walker is going to try her dog's running boots on him, and if they fit/work I'll get some. Obviously the cats didn't want to be left out - both came in very late the other night and since then Fatty has been off her food and sleeping a lot. I've found a couple of scabs on her shoulders/front legs, and a couple of ragged claws. One scab has now had antiseptic on it (her fur is very thick, so it's hard to find the wounds until the scabs are quite hard/prominent), and I've clipped the claws (one needs a bit more off, but she ran out of patience). If she doesn't perk up I may have to book a vet trip. It'll have to be tomorrow as Tuesday and Wednesday have hospital appointments (mine and my mum's).

Exhausted this weekend, so not much done. Dog is unimpressed by lack of activity. I've done laundry and cooking (very basic stuff - including stewing a bag of damsons given to me by a neighbour). Veg plot is looking very neglected, and won't be providing much food for the rest of the year if I don't get a move on with it. Mowing needs doing.

One success over the last few days has been finding other sources for stuff I've lazily been buying from Amazon. I've just been through and cancelled a lot of my subscriptions and am hoping that by the time my prime renewal comes up I'll be able to cancel it. I'll still need it for the odd thing, but it'll make me thing twice!

I have a lot of cashback to cash in, and some work 'points' to exchange for vouchers. The cashback is worth more if I don't take it as cash (last year I think I exchanged it for vouchers towards my Christmas wine order which gave me a 13% increase), but most of the retailers with premiums are ones I don't use. And the work vouchers also have limited appeal (last time I managed to use them to get a voucher towards my brother's Christmas present as he wanted something specific). I don't want to leave them where they are, but I'm having trouble deciding!

Plumber has read my message but not responded. Hopefully I'll hear from him soon. I'll have to give myself a deadline for chasing him, as there's stuff to plan round him.

Greenhouse pump waterbutt needs filling up as it annoyingly doesn't fill from the greenhouse gutter. I'll have to have a rethink for next year about how I get the water to the pump, as it would be better from the other end of the greenhouse anyway. And obviously the big pump needs setting up for the veg beds.

Stinky developed a cough, which was diagnosed by the vet as kennel cough, so has been confined to barracks. TBH I've appreciated the rest even if he hasn't! His toe isn't healing, which is a worry, so I'll have to talk to the vet (he can't go in until he's out of quarantine, which will be another week or so - he hasn't coughed for a couple of days). He obviously hasn't been out with the dog walker, so boots have been ordered in the hope that they do better than the vet wrap.

Plumber (who previously said 'let's talk about it nearer the time' when I'd tried to book him for the work) finally got back to me when I chased to say he'd be on his honeymoon... which presumably he knew when we discussed it last. He offered later dates (doesn't work, as he can't very well come after the carpenter/carpet fitter/decorator), and then earlier ones 'unless we're moving house then'. Not a risk I'm prepared to take (he's been trying to move since May), so my builder is seeing whether his heating engineer can fit the work in on the dates we need. I'm not very happy about it...

Also still waiting for an estimate for blocking up the garage doors, and someone to come and look at the kitchen door which needs replacing (several people have tried and failed to fix it).

I've managed a bit of time in the veg plot over the weekend, so am starting to get the weeds cleared and stuff cut back. There's still a lot of work to do before it'll be easy to maintain (including dealing with my own organisational skills) but the soil is now full of worms and bugs (as well as weeds), and I've started getting fruit and asparagus established. Tomatoes may not have done brilliantly this year, but I've had a few, and the strawberries were spectacular.

As it's not raining yet I should probably do a bit more in the garden, but TBH I'm shattered. I've got plans to stew yet more apples (from my mum's garden), roast some veg and bake some snacks for the week as well as reading my book group book.

First fire of the year was lit last night, and I need to swap the sitting room blinds over from the summer (light filtering) to winter (thermal) ones soon. I'll need to do the same in the bedrooms and bathroom at some point too. And locate my duvet, as night-time temperatures are dropping to the point where a cotton blanket, bedspread, and two cats is not enough. However, as I'm pretty sure the heating was on this time last year, it's not too bad. And with the solar/agile I can make the most of electric heating/hot water to avoid using the stinky oil boiler for as long as possible. Given the fact that the plumber has let me down, swapping the boiler out for a heat pump needs to go up the list (possibly tied in with the garage conversion, which I'd like to get done next year - at least from the point of view of infrastructure).

So still more spending coming up rather than saving/overpaying. But I am intending to do a lump sum OP before my mortgage anniversary (October) and hope I can find enough to get it up to my annual allowance, and then try to do the same next year.

And I really do need to sort my pensions out at some point...

Duvet is back on the bed. Veg roasted (but no snacks made). One load of laundry washed but not dry (will check the best slots to put the airer on as Agile prices are reasonably low tomorrow). A few more things moved out of the big cupboard in my bedroom and into the back bedroom. My plan for when the bedroom is being done is to sleep in all the spare beds in turn so I can see whether each of the rooms works.

I also have vague plans to sort my clothes and shoes out when I move back in...
