A neighbour has relieved me of a box of jam jars, which is good.
Electrical waste went out this morning, so hopefully they took it. Garden waste went too - we're down to one bin now, and increasing compost production.
Cat flap batteries have been replaced.
Beetroot and carrots are roasting in the oven as there's masses of solar. I need to get caught up on work/garden/domestic stuff before my mum is back next week.4 -
The sun has just come out here & it still isn't that great. I was hoping to do the washing first thing but that didn't happen.2

We had lots of sun first thing, then a bit of a dip, and now it's back up to full power again!4

Busy week - Stinky had a 3-day holiday while I was working late for a couple of days, then had a family weekend staying at my mum's with my brother and his family and going to a cousin's for a party on Sunday. Just about recovered now.
Next door's window cleaners have just been round - they've given me a quote for cleaning the solar panels. I didn't ask them to quote for the windows as I've already got someone, although maybe I should have done to see whether I'm getting a good deal (I'm pretty sure I am). However, I don't think he does solar panels, although he is doing the insides of all the windows next time.
Lots of boring stuff ordered online while I was being lazy this morning - bulk orders of laundry liquid, epsom salts, white vinegar, dried cannellini beans, charcoal for the dog etc. Not only did I avoid Amazon, but I also remembered to go through cash back sites.
My mum has another operation tomorrow and will be back here for a week or so again, so I brought her bags back yesterday along with most of the contents of her fridge and fruit bowl. I need to plan for something to feed her when she gets home.
Car tyres are complaining, but reading up I think it's just normal variation. At least I hope so. MOT/Service are due fairly soon (must check... just did 23rd September for MOT) so will ask them to check the tyres carefully. Hopefully they'll behave for tomorrow's trip to and from the hospital.3 -
My tyres respond badly to rapid temperature change. So cool overnight followed by a sprint up the motorway triggers the warning. It is annoying because although I know what it is I also know that the time I ignore it will be the time it matters.3

Tyres have been OK so far, so am keeping my fingers crossed. I need to book my MOT, so may book the service at the same time and flag up the tyres as something to look at.
This weekend I've been trying to tame the veg plot (and we've been eating lots of home-grown fruit and veg as the courgettes/beans/chard/beetroot are still doing well, and the raspberries have got going... toms, cucumbers, and figs too - but not that many). I haven't done much sowing over the last couple of months as the weather hasn't really been any good for it, so I need to work out what I can sow now for some later crops - I know I have some autumn cropping broad beans, and should be able to sow spinach, chard, red welsh onions, carrots, and might get away with sowing cavalo nero now. Also salad stuff. Possibly kohl rabi (although I've only once got them to grow well!). Apparently I should also be able to sow beetroot, which is good as we're really enjoying the current crop. I might risk some peas too. I should probably have a good look and see what seeds i've got.3 -

Mine shouts at me - as it has a low pressure warning which I suspect is standard on a lot of newer cars, MrEH’s does the same. That said - “newer” is relative, mine is 9, and his just a year younger!Your garden is doing well greenbee - although there was much rejoicing here yesterday as we finally found our first three ripe tomatoes!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
