Have done some cooking today, some of which still needs putting away. Haven't measured for the blinds or unpacked/read the instructions for the irrigation system. And remembered to read my texts, as there was a message from the picture framers saying the moulding they ordered is in, so I need to try to get over there this week and make a decision (and leave the pictures with them). I also still have quite a lot of pictures that need to go up on the walls...3

Early start this morning. Let Stinky out at 5.30 and the cats didn't even bother to come out - they got up at 6.30, so Stinky and I went for a walk because it wasn't raining... until about 2/3 of the way round our walk. All cat/dog bowls/kongs/lick mats/puzzles washed, cat food delivery put away, and packaging (plus empty tins) shoved in recycling bin. Fatty is complaining about breakfast, but Stinky has happily eaten his (plus leftover cat food from last night), and Stripey cat hasn't come back in yet.
Soup made in the SC last night has been decanted to use during the week. It isn't very exciting, so I should probably make some pesto at some point to shove in the freezer as ice-cube size lumps are good for livening up bland soup. To do that, I need to get round to sowing a LOT more basil. Or maybe just use a mix of herbs. Or both.
I need cannellini beans to add to some peppers and tomatoes roasted yesterday, and onions, garlic and ginger so I can start making courgette curry for the freezer. I've also found a recipe for courgette and pea soup that I want to try (and test freezing it too).2 -
As an alternative to pesto, I sometimes add harissa paste to soups I find bland.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Ooh... good idea. I have some in the cupboard.
Having said that, I made courgette, pea, and mint soup for lunch today. Freezer has far too many bags of peas in it, although I don't think soup will take up less room!
Also found frozen ginger, so only need to get onions and garlic now.2 -
@greenbee - glad to know we are not the only ones who freeze ginger! OH swears that it is easier to grate from frozen and no stringy bits ensue!
