But this takes into account the amendment which the claim form says doesn't cover.
Plus it was re-booked after 14 December 2016 so I ma not Atol protected for anything booked after this date. So I might try through the chargeback/Section 75 scheme
£214 isn't the amendment fee. Amendment fees were about £35 per flight (from memory). The rest is difference in fare cost.
If the Atol states the full cost of the new flight, incl. amendment fees then that is what should be covered though.0 -
Makes sense - most of the cost was the difference in price, I cannot remember the amendment fee, but thisismoney.com (won't let me post a link as a new user) says £27.50 per person per flight (so £110 for the 2 people travelling).
But the Atol certificate seems to include the full cost of what I paid for new flight, including all admin fees. So will try for the whole lot.0 -
I have a similar situation to yours. Originally booked a number of flights in Nov 16 so covered with ATOL for flights in April 17. My mother then was advised not to fly at the time for medical reasons. Monarch allowed us to amend the flight, they even kept it on hold until the flight in April 18 was available to book. We then booked the flight in July for next April 18. They took £200 out of the original booking, even though the flights for next year were cheaper they charged us that £200 plus an £80 admin fee (still worked out slightly cheaper than if we had cancelled the first ones). We received a new ATOL cert for £280.
I also read that regarding not covering admin fees when doing the form last night but couldn't decide what to put so left to do today. Think I might also try putting £280 and see what they say - be interesting if we get different results!
Hope you get it all!0 -

The CAA said Monarch no longer needed to protect their flights since Greybull cash injection last year. You could have taken out the correct insurance cover for independent travel and that would have covered supplier failure, but it sounds like you chose not.
I'm sorry you've lost money but you could have avoided it.
:T Was just telling people my situation I don't need tools like you rubbing it in.0 -

Do not think he/she was rubbing it in only pointing out that you could have covered all bases by taking out full insurance0 -

Hit a nerve did I? You told people of your situation, but then went on to say how outrageous it was that Monarch opted out of Atol protection on flights and how you should have been warned.
You had that information when you booked and it was obvious when you didn't received an Atol certificate with your confirmation. It's personal choice whether to safeguard your finances by taking out the appropriate insurance cover, but if you choose not to it's not fair to blame someone else.0 -
There is indeed usually a 180 day limit. However, I am pleased to say that after a few emails and Facebook messages to paypal, they today refunded my monarch flights even though the limit had expired. So persevere!0

Tesco is RBS Group so hopefully my Natwest one will be sorted soon, given I logged it the same day as you.0
