    Hello all,

ellie2912 - I use the Saint Delia recipe. It tastes gorgeous, but I can't vouch for its preserving qualities as it never hangs around long enough to preserve!

You know those days where you just shouldn't have bothered getting out of bed? I'm having one of them. Put the bin out this morning - too late I realise the bag was covered in maggots and so were my feet (in flip flops) - yes, I did actually look like that.
Then I went in the shower and managed to pull the curtain pole and half the wall down. I have had the same advertiser call me six times this morning trying to sell me the same product - GO AWAY!!!!

So, yeh. I think I will get on with the ironing - thats a nice quiet job that'll keep me out of trouble.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

    Morning all (just about!)

    Pam great cake, well done!
Amie Good luck at the Dentist
N9eave *whispers* how are you feeling now?
Mioliere Glad you had a better night's sleep
    Catowen Congratulations on the laptop.
Pink That's a shocking amount of homework for a 7 year old. I don't think I had homework at all until I got to grammar school (I'm 41 now).
Nelski I think you might find that "nothing in the kitchen is working properly yet," or failing that, "it's just too dusty and unhygienic to prepare food", or "by the time you've cleaned everything up from the building work each day, you just are too tired to cook and it's getting you down". I'm sure we can keep you supplied with [strike]excuses[/strike]reasons why you need to be fed by others.
<HUGS> from a distance (maybe a <mwah><mwah> instead) to those with colds

Well DH had to go to work today, which was a bit of a shock to the system. I'm so used to him being around (even though we do our own thing for most of the day) that I find im missing him. Even having my mid morning "flat white" isn't the same on my own, hardly seems worthwhile firing up the machine. Maybe I'll have a second one to make up for it, but I'm not sure what I'll be like with 2 double espressos inside me!

Have been to the gym this morning, first time for over a wek as my back has been playing up. I've been doing the cool down exercises in the shower every morning - well, those that I can do standing up - and that's really helped. I got to Egham this morning, parked the car, went to the chemist to get some Migraine tablets, and then I found myself wandering in and out of the shops, just procrastinating. Gave myself a kick up the bum, and went into the gym. Feel much better now.

Stopped at the farm shop for veggies on the way home. I've called in a few times to offer my condolences, but the owners still not around much, I can't imagine what they are going through (they are one of the Surrey farms who had to have their small herd culled).

DH harvested a load of chillies last night, so I'll be making a chilli con carne for dinner. Think I might have a go at some Chilli Bubble Cornbread as well. I made cornbread a couple ofweeks ago; although it was a bit cakey I liked it. This one has chilli in, and is made up of lots of very small rolls all put together in a cake tin. The idea is that when it's cooked you pull off a bubble to munch IYSWIM.

I've been a bit of a Slack Alice on the housework front for the last few weeks, so I think I might do some semi deep cleaning today. I'll start in the kitchen and see how I get on. Maybe that second cup of coffee isn't such a bad idea after all?

Well, I need to get on and do something. Have a great afternoon xxxx

Hi everyone. Hope the sun has come out for you all - it has here and is definitely helping me feel better. Have just taken a stroll up to the local shop.

Welcome to MUMOFTWINS and hi to SPECSAPPEAL.

CATOWEN - congrats on winning the laptop! I started doing the comps a couple of months ago and won - absolutely nothing, so I gave up. You have now persuaded me to have another go! Well done.

I hope everyone who has been feeling ill is now on the mend. I know I am but it's not happening as quickly as I'd hoped. Still, I'm sure by Monday I'll be well enough for the gym. I've really missed it - not just from the fitness point of view but it does my brain good, as well!

Well, have done some paperwork, posted off the book I sold on Green Met - heaven knows when it will get where it's going. No post yet, though. It's going to be strange ordering stuff online and wondering how long it will take. I have just replaced my last black ink cartridge and need to order some more so I'd better get that done pretty sharpish.

Anyway, off to get something done. Will see you all later.
