OS Daily 10th Oct 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. I have a whopping hangover from the works leaving do last night. I left at 9 too and did not drink a lot. Must have been the mix of cider and wine.... uggghhh why do we do it? _pale_

I have to go to work today.... and there is packed lunch to do..... I think I will get a lift in today, just in case.

    Poor N9eav :D

    Goodmorning everyone,

Bit of a bleak, rain off and on day here. Not much to report. Just been keeping a 2 year old happy inside. The mosquito's are terrible downstairs. We went down just before for a bit of play, I lathered repellent on him but the blighters were biting his head. So gave up. Off in the kitchen soon to get tea ready. I should have checked yesterday's thread as I can't remember much of it. So hope you all have a great day & hugs to those who aren't. Byeeeeeeeeee

Cat Congratulations on the laptop win. :T

    morning n9eav and hester,

n9eav, hope your hangover gets better soon, eat lots this morning it helps, hester glad you slept better, My mum have me a 'sleepy time' t-bag last night, she buys them for my dad who is a poor sleeper, I took the tea to bed with me, and sipped it while reading my book, it worked a dream, went straight off and slept all night, I think she gets them in sainsbugs.

Off to w**k this morning, so will have a quick swipe before i go, I work for a charity and am going on two visits today to two projects which we might fund, one in a recycling scrap store, and one is a drop in centre / buddy scheme for children who have left care. should be a good day.

Got salmon fillets, new pots, frenchbeans and sweetcorn today.

Meanmarie, welcome back, my DD used to call it pisgetti when she was younger, and she used to call the hospital,

Morning all. N9EAV - yes, I would say mixing wine and cider would lead to a hangover.

AMIE - good luck at the dentist!

AUSSIE - your poor DGS. My DH would not be able to stand the mosquitoes, they'd eat him alive. They're not interested in me. Apparently, so I found out the other day, mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide; some people breathe out more than others which is why one person will get bitten and another one won't. It must drive you all mad.

    HESTER - glad you've had a good night's sleep.

Well, I slept like a top last night - first really decent night's sleep for a long time. The 'cold-from-hell' has more or less gone, apart from the cough which I'm coping with because I don't feel so ill now. Will still leave the gym until next week, though, because my energy is not back to normal yet. (((hugs))) to all still suffering and I hope those whose colds turned into sinusitis are feeling better. My DIL is still going through the worst stage so I shall be doing the school run for the rest of the week.

Plan today is to actually complete the huge pile of paperwork which is wobbling precariously on the edge of the desk. It has fallen off several times so will take ages to sort through. Dinner will be easy and one of DH's favourites - mince with lots of veggies, new potates and gravy, followed by rice pudding - for him, not me - can't stand it!

I suppose we'll all get tons of post today - at least, I think they said that deliveries will resume today. That will create another pile of paperwork, no doubt.

Well, I hope the weathermen have got it right - apparently, from late afternoon today, we are supposed to be having almost a week of really good weather. I think it will do us all good so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope everyone has a great day. Off to have a shower, now. Will drop in again later.

    Morning All

Completely tired this morning and I've only been back at work one day!

Had a letter from the building society yesterday - they're extending my mortgage offer:T :j

Got another long day today. Looking after my friend's three year old this afternoon:eek: Actually he's a lovely boy, but I've never had sole responsibility over him before. She's got an interview, so helping out.

Done archerfish for the day - or at least the emails. Still got to visit the site and must do pigsback today.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Good Morning All

No rain here at the moment hopefully the nice weather they have predicted will kick in. Not sure if we will have post today or tomorrow - I will have loads, its been nice not having an 'in' pile.

In office for a shortwhile this morning, then a little bit of housework before head off for lunch with a friend. Do need to check with her before though.

More ironing later did some last night so pile not as big. Need to get chicken out of the freezer so can have chicken, chips and salad - that reminds me need to pop to a local shop for some bits.

Nothing else happening at the moment.

    Have a good day.
