What possible business is it of yours?
Posters post on a public forum, another poster (me) is a little surprised at the values claimed in their posts.
Considering the scorn published about the chosen egg in my basket, I seek clarification as to the claimed worth of contributors to this thread. Many of whom argue against my financial strategy.

    Just asking, that's all..._

Portfolios were rebased to £100,000 as of 29th Sept 2017 to make for easy comparison.

I imagine that there are people on here at very different life stages so the actual amounts will likely be quite varied in any case.

Likewise actual portfolio's. As my real one has new funds added every month. My ghost trades therefore reflect the nearest actual one made.

I have studied the claims made here about what folks have. I do get a little puzzled by the amounts claimed.
Given that I accept they are honest accounts, I am concerned that many of you seem to have quite small amounts.
Are they part of larger portfolios? If not I am a little worried that in retirement you may be hamstrung by such low six figure amounts.

And I am speaking as someone who is in a house with very safe pension incomes to enjoy......Just asking..._

A bit of both really. This is one of my pension portfolios - one i don't contribute to so its easier to see the growth. I have another (my wife two more) anfd we have a couple of ISAs.
The value is reset to 100k originally. I have another 15-20 yrs until retirement hence the 100% equities. We are all in reality at different stages with different amounts.

Always an interesting thread this one.

Looking at my portfolio versus these, over the last 11 months clearly I have been helped by being invested in riskier assets than average, but equally have been hurt by being underweight in the US.

Slightly oddly my global funds have all outperformed my market funds.

This is an investing challenge with 100k in a declared portfolio and has nothing to do with net worth. Anyway, the rich might have got that way by taking lots of risk and luck so they aren't necessarily the best place to get investing advice....

All should be made clear in the link in the first post.

Perhaps you could provide your gold data as an interesting comparator?

On Friday 29th September 2017 my total stack of one ounce of gold was purchased. I purchased a half ounce at the am fix, and my second half ounce at the pm fix. It cost me £961.58 and a half pence. Rebased at £100,000.

At the last trading day for gold, Friday 31st August 2018, that one ounce of gold was valued at £927.39 and a half pence.
Which means the value of my gold is £34.19 less. What does that rebase to..._
