  • Hello turtles!

I've been very bad and not logged in for several days, it's been very crazy at work!

I'm on 5 spend free days at the mo.

On £150/£250 groceries and still at £40/£100 petrol (quite proud of that one!)

Do need to get Xmas sorted a bit better, i feel behind but also want to wait for the better deals. (Due 2 phone contract renewals in a few weeks but I'll wait until carphone warehouse do their thing with free currys vouchers - thatll get me the new kettle/hairdryer i need).

Very happy with progress on the actual organize October part of the challenge. Just donated 6 big bags of baby clothes to the local women's shelter who needed it. This was way more important than trying to flog them for mere pennies at the car boot on Sunday.
Phase 2 is the car boot, got some other baby items, old stuff that we've not looked at in 2 years and maybe ill take the books. Anything left will go to charity.
After that were moving anything left in the spare room out and into the cupboard the baby clothes were in and starting to strip the wallpaper (although this may come in the new year).

Tomorrow will be a spend day as we'll take DD swimming before I go to work.

Need to sort another radiator repair/replace soon, this one not covered by British gas insurance. Hoping it's not too much!

Started the month (26th oct) £900 overdrawn, currently £400 overdrawn so I'm track to have at least a couple hundred quid paid off. Once these are done, we'll work on the credit card!

    Night all!

    Still at NSD 5/15
Spent today as needed to replace my purse else any pennies I do manage to hang onto risk being lost through a number of holes in a very old, battered relic.
Picked up a few items to replenish the cupboards as the dc insist on raiding at every opportunity. Extends to leftovers in the fridge but I tend to cook extra for this reason.

    Hi all :j

Not a NSD today so still 6/15

Organise: No cellar diving today as work in the morning at the CS. Realised that it's no good having a cellar floor you can eat off whilst the kitchen is a health hazard ....:rotfl:

Lunch: from stores, Beans on toast

Supper was Gammon in (ginger) diet coke (!), new poatatoes from garden & broccoli in cheese sauce. HM apple sort of strudel for pud

Food budget: £175.89/250 Tuesday is grocery shopping as I can pop into Lidl which is next to work. Not expecting to spend quite so much, but bought a 10kg sack of basmati rice for £9.99 which will last us a very long time. Stocked up a couple of packets of cold/flu powders...total was £38.45 monthly total already quite high...

Be kind: Hopefully was at work & home. Do try with this..

One more time: Yep on SW again however not lost any weight although feel better

Extra Income: Didn't take any more photos but had some on phone so listed 2 more items on ebay

Christmas: More making sock no 2, got a few bits in CS for stocking & Christmas Eve

Exercise: Mild afternoon so cut grass yet again I swear it grows faster than I can cut it. Pulled up a lot of brambles etc. Got spuds out of grow bag, these ones saved from canine by being in enclosed garden

    Heating: still off

Grateful for: Manager being at a meeting so I didn't see her, always a happier atmosphere when she's not there..

Time in garden with mild & sunny weather

Finding lots of books I haven't read in CS from fav authors

Mothernerd Thanks for the inspo quotes & running the thread, very helpful to feel accountable

    Morning all,

    SFD 5 yesterday :)

Walked loads at work and a short dog walk as I was tired and I knew the dog walker had let them run round the park for ages earlier.

Work is crazy, I'd be so rich if they paid overtime, I must have done at least 12 hours yesterday.

Today I have a late start as I'm at the doctors at 8.20 but usually at school by 7.40.

Hope you all have a great day.

    For yesterday

Organise - went to the supermarket armed with my list and spent way over what I'd hoped for, £56.55 spent. Definitely blaming OH for this one, I always seem to spend more if he's with me. We've now only £33.60 left in the food budget for the month, not ideal when it's only the 11th but fridge, freezer and cupboards are crammed full so we should manage.

    Budget - £116.40/£150 food, £15/£20 social

    NSDs - 7/20

Be kind - really struggled with this one esp when OH told me he'd lost his phone (the brand new one that I'd loaned him the money for last week). Thankfully for him, a quick phone call confirmed that he'd left it on the bus and he can pick it up from the bus depot today

Exercise - over 23,000 steps. Planning to run home from work today

Christmas - had a quick chat with OH about what he wanted, the usual - his football team's shirt plus I'll do him a stocking. Will plan the rest tonight.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.8.25 - £106,362.86
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.98

Early check in. DS3 has gone off on school residential trip until Fri so I'm liking the fact that I'm not currently on a school run in the rain!

    Today:
Organise/ Cook from Scratch/ Use things up - Breakfast= YS crumpets from freezer. Lunch = 2 part bake rolls left from weekend with last of the pate from Saturday. Dinner - something from freezer/ fridge. Only have myself and DS2 to feed tonight - he'll probably want his standard post-rugby dinner of fishfingers, which I don't personally want! :) DS1 is eating at school (staying on to help at an evening event) and OH is working away.

Pay debts/ savings - £150 paid to 0% CC. £315 transferred to kitchen savings fund :T

    Budgets
    * Food - 126.84/ 325 (stretch 290)
