Have a look at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/547146/pip-assessment-guide.pdf
Pages 86 & 97 on. This gives info on how the descriptors are assessed.
at time of filling form, yes, on bad days. I am not willing to lie to get PIP...I think I am better now as learned CBT for OCD on youtube. 2 months ago n bad days I would not leave house for 1-3 days, and cook less often, not now...0 -
I have bipolar, i took bank statements with me showing i was £2000 overdrawn and that i have been for several years and also detailed how i'd ended up using pay day loans to cover rent, utilities, and having bipolar im prone to being impulsive. I took a budget with me that a friend had helped with and that and the bank statemetnts showed i couldnt stick to a budget. Cant remember how mnay points i got but i definetly got them for not being able to deal with complex money issues. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. i cannot use sharp knives as due to poor concentration, impatience severely cut myself...i use blunt knives for cooking
I'm sure their quotas for this week will be low for amount of people they have to refuse and i will do well.
i will be in receipt of PIP in 2 weeks.
thanks Alice, I will take that wording i wrote with me re how spending makes me feel good. giving me some contro; over my life.0 -

The PIP assessment should look at how you are on the majority of days over 1 year.
It is quite likely that your mental health will vary over time, so look at it over 365 days.
If in 183 days over the last year your mental health affected you being able to do the PIP activities reliably, then you need to explain this to the assessor. 2 months may be too short a period to judge - especially if your low mood does vary.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
Thanks,
if I got PIP enhanced rate which i should but won't according to Poppy, I would use it for Psychotherapy £60 pw...that is concs rate0 -
Do you think if somebody has an social services appointee that manages all money that person would considered unable to manage their money and score maximum points?0

If all it took to justify that you can't budget is that you are overdrawn than half the population could consider applying for PIP and then many more would find themselves suddenly struggling to budget.
The descriptor mentions simple budgeting, ie. being able to understand that if you have £50 in your bank account, you will be overdrawn if you spend £100, which is different to understanding the concept, but not caring and still spending the £100.0
