What aid do you need for reading, and for cooking?

Many people do not have savings, it's not indicative of being unable to manage your budget. What assistance do you have presently, does someone have power of attorney for your affairs, do you have an appointee?
I need a chair when searching for something in fridge for cooking as get neck/back pain otherwise from bending down.
Use magnifier to read instructions for food or medicine though rarely read latter, need someone to prompt me for that
someone gave me budgeting advice but she would not give me tailored advice by email re how to allocate spending wisely or make decisions for me. i don't need someone have power of attorney for my affairs, or have an appointee
i wasted £200 on phone bill by
    1. not checking/ being aware of my mobile phone limit
    2. not checking bank statement to see all the money they were taking out
i was paying £12 for one call to ESA, spent at least £75 in calls to ESa in one month as over limit unknowingly
  • I paid £200 in fees in 1 year for £200 overdraft

I really dont think using a chair to look in the fridge is going to get you points. Sorry

Similarly, you say you don't need an appointee to look after you, but then you describe things which show that you do. A lot of it seems like carelessness, and if you say you don't need an appointee to help you, how will the PIP money actually help you to overcome these issues? You'll simply continue to be careless with your phone bill and your bank?

Honestly I think you will struggle. People with far more severe issues than you have failed to meet the criteria.
  • According to you I would get 8 points even with GP/psychiatrist PIP support letters.
  • Simple budgeting is whether you can tender the right money / or count change in a shop, etc.
Generally given to people with severe learning difficulties.

You would be looking at 2 points for not managing budgets - if your poor mental health rendered you vulnerable to overspending - "Spending money is the only real control I feel in my life and makes me feel good as I have little control over my wretched life.". This is what you need to tell the assessor.

The use of a chair re preparing food descriptor is only likely to score you points if you need to sit whilst preparing the food / chopping veg etc. Perhaps because you can't bend over a worktop or are unsteady / unsafe standing, or need to use a stick as a support.
Would you have problems with lack of motivation re cooking due to depression?

Also what social support do you need to engage with others?
  • I will empathise anxiety, low mood, poor concentration, inability to cope with everyday life re poor budgeting which are true reasons to counter any challenge of carelessness
I will take this wording with me.

I'm assuming you're taking someone with you to the assessment?
  • To encourage me to engage with others in a
group, to keep conversation, going and support me, though have no idea where will get someone like that
    really i need a conversation/social skills coach
6 months ago before burning out, i worked as volunteer for 4 charities. I rarely spoke to anyone in my teams, over 40 volunteers, just came and worked, no friends attained. been in a church 9 months, no friends. I have not had friends in 5 years. i want friends

If this means you can't do any of the PIP activities & descriptors reliably, within a reasonable time period (i.e. longer than twice the time than normal), or to an acceptable standard then you should be counted as not able to do that particular activity and should score appropriate points. See Page 86 on of the assessors guide link in previous post.
