  • I echo Cumbria Lass's comment about Mother's Day - it's just horrible. and there's really no getting round it. The first Mother's Day run-up for me, I was down town and saw all these ads for MD stuff, and I cried all my way round.

However hard it is, and unfair it feels, hold on to the precious love you shared, which nothing can diminish. You can still talk to her in your head, tell her how much you appreciated her, how Mother's Day will ALWAYS be special to you because of her, even if you can't give her a card or hugs, that you realise how a wonderful mother's love is not something everyone experiences and be thankful you had that. Try and get through this first one, and believe me when I say they get a fraction better each year. You never stop feeling choked, but you can always cherish memories.

I think my DS was pretty unusual as his room was immaculate when he lived at home. I even caught him once polishing his curtain pole :rotfl:

  • Safe travels this weekend collecting DS3 , am sure it's this weekend ? ,

Things seem to be going well with work and college , glad the assignment is underway.

DS2 is having an interesting adventure and he will be back soon as well. Hope DS1 does t have to wait long for a diagnosis.

Had your Halifax cheque turned up yet? I have probably missed your post on it if you have already said ?

This weekend will be hard for you , Mother's Day , but I am sure you will find a way to think of your mum that will being you some comfort.

    Thinking of you.

Thanks Cumbria :). We are going this weekend to collect DS3. Mother's Day will be hard this year :( but at least DS3 will be home so that will be some distraction.

My H@lifax letter and cheque have NOT turned up yet  so they'll be getting a phone call on Monday if it hasn't turned up by then .

Ha Ha!! Teacher comment was funny!
Remember the same feeling when trying to teach the children to say when their birthday was in French. They were 12 years old and about half of them didn't know their actual birthday! I was literally banging my head off the wall trying to get them to 'guess' their birthdays!

    ANyway safe travels!

It does feel like you're banging your head against the wall sometimes :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Thank you Elizabeth you're very good at saying comforting things :). There's been Mother's Day stuff in the shops for weeks and it does upset me every time I see it :(. I'd love to be able to give her a card and a present and it's horrible that I can't :(. But I know I'm lucky to have had a mum like her because not everyone is lucky enough to have such a lovely mum. I will be glad when the day is over though :(.

  • I'll be ready for my bed soon as it's been a busy day!

I've done volunteering, my lunchtime job, watched the TA, nipped into town straight after to get a few bits. Then came home, put the clean bedding on DS3's bed, showered and washed my hair, cooked dinner and made sandwiches for the journey.

DH has also had a busy day as he worked all morning, had a long meeting this afternoon, got two new tyres that we needed for the car :(, discovered the car had no oil in it , bought petrol for the journey, went in the car wash to get rid of some bird poo  and bought snacks for the journey.

We want to make an early start in the morning so we can get home before midnight. The way I feel now I should sleep well anyway!
