I've come home from work to see I've been awarded the PPI Party Pooper badge :T :j :T.
School was good although I felt tired so obviously didn't go to bed early enough! The children had a maths test this morning, what a way to start a Monday . The weather was lovely at lunchtime so I enjoyed being outside. This job is going to be great in the summer
.
I haven't been to Pilates for two weeks
so I really must go tonight. Luckily I don't have an early start tomorrow, so if it tires me out I can have a lie in until 8am. DH has promised to cook too so I can rest my feet after Pilates. I'm getting used to standing up more though because my feet were feeling fine after the first week
.
I'm still very excited about the PPI
. I can't quite believe it and I'm half expecting them to ask for the money back :rotfl:. I've still got £3,500 in my savings account and I'd like to keep it there as long as possible
. Although I'll have to give DH £400 for his lapop and use some of it to pay our final VAT bill at the end of March. But I want to put that off as long as possible as it's so nice to have money in my savings account. I had £3 in my personal account before the PPI went in
and then suddenly I had £3,793 :T. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Just want to say that I too had many years of having to work full time as my husband was self employed and we never knew when firms would pay up or when work would come in .I hated it as it made forward planning very hard and I like to be organised and in control of my finances .
I agree it is much better to have a regular pension coming in albeit a much smaller sum but at least we can cut our cloth accordingly . I applaud your efforts in supporting your husband and relieving some of the worry of balancing the books .We don’t need a huge amount of money to be happy do we ?Just enough to not have to worry is just great.0 -
Thanks Mrs Lottie
.
Most of our debt problems have been caused by an irregular income and like you I like to be organised and in control of our finances. So I'm delighted to earn £200 a month that I know is reliable. Hopefully I can increase it soon. You're right, we just need enough money not to have to worry

I'm off to Pilates in a bit. I didn't go last week because it was DS2's last evening before Greece and the week before I was too exhausted from the first day in my new job plus volunteering
. I was determined to go tonight, so I'm dressed in my exercise gear, my mat is by the front door and I'll leave very soon
. My friend can't go, which is a shame as we have catching up to do, but the instructor is lovely and the other people in the class nice so I'll still enjoy it. I hope I'm not too stiff after missing the last two weeks. I should sleep well tonight anyway :rotfl:. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

B@rclaycard deducted 20% off the statutory compensation for tax. So it's possible I may get the tax back if DH and I earnt under the tax threshold this year, which is entirely possible. If I get the tax back it will be another £500 :T.
It just gets better & better!!0
