.Late to the partybut I saw all the claps on the last page and wondered if it would be ppi or a job. Had to go back and read from where I'd left off. Massive congratulations HH and I hope it leads to everything you hope for. Do you think your starting the course helped? Shows you are committed perhaps?
Have a good rest over half term.
Thanks Verbatim
. I think because I've been volunteering for a year which has shown I'm reliable and get on well with people, plus starting the course too have both helped me to get the job
.Cumbria_lass wrote: »Just a thought , can you still do the course you have started ?
Yes I can still do my course luckily. The job is lunchtimes (no prizes for guessing what it is!) and my course is one morning a month, so I can still do my course and my volunteering in the classroom

The pay is just over £200 a month (not sure if there'll be any deductions) so not a fortune, but it will be very helpful indeed for contributing towards bills and other expenses

At this level there should be no deductions.

Shouldn't be any deductions, but you may need to split your tax code. Talk to your accountant! You will probably get emergency taxed at 20% but you should get it back quickly, especially at this end of the tax year.
Also, if it's term time only it may be equated pay - 39 weeks pay plus x weeks holiday pay, divided by 12 months to give a monthly salary. Worth considering the pension too, especially if it is a local government defined benefit pension scheme. Some of them have a 50/50 option were you get a reduced return for a lower contribution, but those kind of schemes are rarely available outside of the public sector. I look after a few outsourced people in those schemes, they pay 5%, we pay over 30%!My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++
